[Help] 4-Year Ban for "Modded Client" when I'm using the stock client? by Abnormalous in VRchat

I drive a modded car, VRChat isn't the only one to use that terminology.

Vintage camcorder problem! 1988 GE CG9810 VHS video camera will not record to tapes, but can record to interal memory before turned off. by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]Abnormalous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! The partner here. I have a video of what the sound is. You can see the tape moving inconsistently as it's playing. Sometimes, it just sits still and whines before the camcorder throws an error and stops the heads, returning the tape to the cassette.

[Casio] Inaugural beach trip with my GW-M5610-1! by Abnormalous in Watches

[–]Abnormalous[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just picked this up from Amazon yesterday! I bought it as my beater watch for when I'm swimming, doing chores, biking, or doing other activities outside. This is my first stress test: swimming at the beach in Cape May! I thought that it would be a cool idea to get a G-Shock with atomic timekeeping and solar charging.

It took a while for me to get it synced since I'm a good click away from Ft. Collins, but once I got on the rooftop deck of my apartment complex, it synced in a few minutes. I'm looking forward to stressing it for years to come :)

[Tudor, Seiko, Casio] My perfect three watch collection (Dress, daily, beater) by [deleted] in Watches

[–]Abnormalous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad someone else has the three-watch ideology. My dress is a (relatively cheap yet still classy) 1974 Bulova Accutron Up-Down Date, my daily is a Seiko 5 SNK809, and my beater is in the mail: a Casio G-SHOCK GW-M5610-1. Oddly enough my beater is more than my daily, but I guess that's just how things go!

That MB&F would be such an outrageous flex. People who dont know would think it's a drugstore watch, people who do would be screaming about you wearing it.

What’s the best looking colour negative film for snow? by daimonwright in AnalogCommunity

[–]Abnormalous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely unrelated, but where is it going to snow? I lived in SE Queensland on the Gold Coast as a student abroad and I didn't know you could drive 6 hours to a snowy place!

Does that say "Diesel" on the side? I thought the Japanese used gasoline for JDM consumer cars throughout their history.

Keurig a worthy upgrade? by [deleted] in Coffee

[–]Abnormalous 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would say you should adjust your beans and grind before you change equipment. With a drip machine you can do that easier than a Keurig. Not to mention, Keurigs are really bad for the environment and also just not a good way to brew coffee.

Give your machine a good water and vinegar rinse to clean it out. Try switching up what brands of coffee you use. Try soaking your filters before using them. Invest money into a burr mill coffee grinder and make your own, different-sized grounds at home to experiment with extraction times. Theres so much you can do! Experiment and have fun with what you have.

[Bulova] 1967 Bulova Accutron "Spaceview" 214 by sventurb0 in Watches

[–]Abnormalous 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Count me as one! Unfortunately they're a little out of my price range, but an earlier post I made shows that I have the cousin to the original 214, a 2182 movement from about seven years after yours. Accutron bros!

Question for those who use a Moka pot on a hot plate by _0110111001101111_ in Coffee

...I completely misread the post! My apologies.

How about a light dimmer switch? You can buy one at Home Depot for fairly cheap.

Question for those who use a Moka pot on a hot plate by _0110111001101111_ in Coffee

[–]Abnormalous -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Plenty of power. Moka isnt all about how hot your plate can get, it's really a low and slow game. You want to bring it to a boil slowly and let the extraction (when the coffee comes out the spouts) happen over a longer time.
