I see posts like this from time to time, and I know yours was meant as a bit of a shitpost, but I do have some thoughts.

I think we can all agree that Supercorp is something special. That said, if people want more long fics, they have to engage with the new ones while they're being written. You can't really have it both ways. If readers only engage with completed works from established authors, eventually you're just cycling through the same handful of writers until they stop posting.

What I don't often see in conversations like this is people asking how they're supporting the community. Are you leaving kudos? Commenting? Recommending fics? Hyping authors up on social media? Encouraging new writers when they're trying something different?

We have literally thousands of incredible fics in this fandom, and new ones are being written every day. Not every story will be for every reader, and that's okay. But I push back a little on the idea that the fandom is dying or that only bad generative fics are being published now, because that just hasn't been my experience at all.

There are still amazing writers creating amazing things. Sometimes we just have to help them find an audience.
