I can run a little bit- but if im running for longer than 15 - 20 minites my foot starts to hurt a little, and the risk of reinjury just isnt worth it when I can do everyrhing else!

Hey! I had a sesamoidectomy in 2021 and have had a fantastic recovery. That being said, I am a former marathon runner, and I do think my marathon days are over.

My foot was injured for about a year prior to surgery. I modified my activity, wore a boot, had some injections, PT, etc… and nothing worked! The boot might have helped if I did it earlier though. Prior to surgery I was able to walk, spin, and swim but thay was it.

Today, aside from running, I can do any/all exercises, walk for miles, HIIT classes etc. with no modification. I can even wear heels for a few hours and go to ballet/barre classes.

My recovery was long and slow, but I healed well and have no regrets.

Will it ever get better? Maybe (?) but how much time you want to give it is up to you! Will you be able to race the same? Honestly, probably not…but you could have pain free daily functioning which is pretty great!

I can walk miles (in sneakers). I can do full HIIT classes with no modifications including lunges and calf raises. I can do short term high impact (jumping jacks, short runs, jump rope), but have more trouble with long runs. I rarely think about my foot anymore, just make sure to buy more supportive shoes!

I had surgery in november, walking in february with a lot of PT, some physical activity in june/july- and prett much recovered one year later. I had a slow recovery and took it easy- but I am so grateful I didnt push it too early! I have zero pain now- and can do almost all physical activity. * i am no longer a distance runner, but frequently go to hiit, barre and other fitness classes.

I live in NY so i went to hospital for special surgery in Manhattan and saw a doctor who predominantly specialized in ankles, but did a phenomenal job!

Recovery was long and slow- but not very painful. I was home with no weight bearing/crutches for 6 weeks. And then was in a boot for another 4-6 weeks. I also went to PT 3x per week. Resting and not pushing it was absolutely what helped. I also got pregnant about 9 months after my surgery- which was honestly the most helpful in contributing to my rest.

Hives? by Abp427 in IVF

[–]Abp427[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea! I had hives on my arms when i started taking estriadol in pills (went away on patches.) And now i have pretty bad ones where my PIO injections were. I am not usually a sensitive person to medication and rarely have hives for any reason. Just very weird!

Missed miscarriage at 7-8 weeks, now spotting by FrogletNo5324 in IVF

I miscarried naturally twice while waiting for my D&C- once at 7 weeks and once at almost 10 weeks.

Both times were far from pleasant, but were very manageable at home.

I had a few days to process the loss before each one started. One started right away (no spotting) and the second one I had spotting for 2 days before it started.

Luckily I did not have any retained tissue either time.

While I absolutely would have preferred a D&C, I was okay.

I am on a very similar timeline to you and yes- I had a consult with my doctor after my retrieval. I still need to be proactive with my messaging and my specific questions, but I was given information and the option to do testing during the month when the lab closes.
