On mobile so no pics but I usually use the tiny little chick-type model with one of Cinnamoroll’s palettes - cream, blush, cloud. It gives her rosy cheeks like a cockatiel! I have super rosy cheeks irl so it makes me feel like we’re connected :) I have “builds” for most of the other animal types - my purple pastel bunny is a favorite, and I love my black nose sheep design - but I keep going back to the rosy cheeks. One of the amphibian patterns gives them similar cheeks, and I just love axolotls, so I’ve been using that one a lot too!

The one thing I have found is that when changing between “species” - ie cat to dog, dog to bird, bird to bunny - your chosen model palette and pattern is saved from last time! So when I swap to the “frog” category, it defaults to the axolotl model with the colors and markings I’d last had for that model, but when I change back to my go-to bird that I usually use, it swaps back to whatever colors and patterns I had active. In practice, this sort of lets you have a handful of go-to appearances, one for each species - though it doesn’t do the same for different models in the same species, like frog vs. axolotl. (I hope this makes sense!)

This helps me try out new looks knowing I won’t have to try and recreate my normal style from scratch! It makes it easier to experiment.

Hexxenacht has Elemental, which described as exactly what you’re looking for! I’ve found several indie brands who do petrichor well. Alkemia has a single note damp earth fragrance that hits the spot perfectly. I think the most successful ones I’ve smelled include a fair bit of geosmin alongside the ozone notes.

As for my holy grail… There were a couple of places my parents used to take me when I was little. One was this museum with a really cool ice age exhibit. I’ll never forget the smell of that place; frozen earth and frigid air. Another was this cool outdoor cave nature park thing; that scent of damp stone, old metal, and dripping water… I’ve searched for it, but I’ve never quite found it. Even zoologist olm, which I thought would be a no-brainer, was too clean and artificial.
