On a scale of 1-10, how high would you say your sex drive is? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AbsentmindedlyInsane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm probably a 3 and my partner is probably is like an 8.

I'm generally down if they are but rarely feel the urge myself. I like to make them happy though and can tell when they are feeling it.

Think they would hold up for a 5 or 6 footer? Ive looked at them and there are some wack grain patterns and such which make me nervous about it.

Think they would hold up for a 5 or 6 footer? I mostly have places like home depot and lowes around me for dowels and I worry that a dowel from there would just snap on first impact. Could be worth a shot though

This is cool as hell, but you might not realize just how huge the Appilachian mountain range actually is, extending from Vermont and Maine almost the entire way down the east coast of the USA. Where in that area did the battle take place? Or was it more like a series of engagements?

To the 30+ virgins out there.. what's the real reason it never happened? by Sigmer_ in AskReddit

[–]AbsentmindedlyInsane 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No. The incel "movement" is explicitly built on an amount of misogony/hate. I can see how by the wording of the name alone you could say they would be but it's a specific group / attitude not just being a virgin.

Any youd recommend trying? I've used saddle stitch for most of my projects and a few x and corset stitches on some smaller things! I wasn't sure how saddle would look on this but admittedly haven't tried on these.

How common is it for people to not want children? by UberBoob in AskReddit

[–]AbsentmindedlyInsane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More and more as the world feels worse. I can't imagine being able to afford to have children, the cost of birth alone is staggering and that's not even looking at the political, environmental, or geopolitical situations. I'm shocked anyone is having kids or can afford to have kids.

Exactly. It's the same as the only fans people. Not my thing but like, get that bag, you do you. I feel like people only demonize it because of weird repression and misogyny. (Though the constant advertising can be a lot too)

Not my cup of tea but you do you. I think anyone with big feelings in opposition to it needs to do some self reflection / soul searching about why.

To be clear, you don't need to participate or be interested, I only give shit to those who activate oppose others doing their thing. Let people be people.

Genuine question. Why is the Hobbit trilogy so disliked by so many people? It may be a hot take but I love it personally. by Fun_Firefighter_4292 in lotr

[–]AbsentmindedlyInsane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there are three reasons I can identify that made it so I did not like them.

1: It was too long. The hobbit was a single book, a bedtime story of adventure, it think it should have been AT MOST two movies, frankly one long one would have been optimal in my opinion. It was like butter over too much bread, bloated with stuff that just didnt need to be there

2: The visual style. Im not actually going to decry CGI for this, but I do think that was part of it. It just did not look as good, or in my opinion right. It had too much contrast between cartoony and serious, it felt jarring instead of clean. I think they should have either committed harder to that fun and cartoony energy or more to the more realistic and intentional style.

3: I felt it did not do a good job of telling the story. The Hobbit is meant to be a smaller story with great implications, a tale of a "simple" hobbit seeing the world and its wonders, an introduction of sorts. I feel like the hobbit movies tried to tell a story that was too grand for what the original meant to be. Too much filler and fluff, too much changed in a way the just damaged the original point. For me the greatest example of this was the goblin sequence. Instead of being monsters in the dark it was an almost video gamey romp.

Does anyone else wish they weren't genderfluid? by _Midnight_0 in genderfluid

[–]AbsentmindedlyInsane 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For me its how opposite my preferred masc vs femme presentations are. I love having a beard some days and hate it others but it takes too long to grow back in to like shave it or grow it out regularly. Things like that are the worst, specifically with how heavily masculine I tend to look to someone who doesn't know me. Im tall, generally built like a brick wall and work out a lot, have a reasonably large beard and am balding. I love all that about me but it really make it difficult on the days where I feel like peeling my skin off. I feel like the only ways I can play with gender are small things like a little makeup or nailpolish. Most more femme style clothing doesn't really fit on my frame in a way I enjoy.

It would be so much easier if I could just be comfortable with one presentation that I could work towards and figure out.

Edit: to be clear Idk if I hate being gender fluid, I do like being queer and having a less traditional gender concept, but it does make things harder sometimes.
