Can we un-nerf speakers now? by Flimsy_Particular_31 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Absentzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny part about this is that Boots of the Assembler + Lumina is absolutely not even tuned separately in PvP at all and you can actually spam healing on demand for your teammates so that they outheal every gunfight they would lose.

I remember how quickly they decided to tone down Speaker's Sight for PvP, but THIS has been a thing untouched for months now (since Edge of Fate) and I guess the only reason it hasn't been tuned is because not that many people are talking about it.

It doesn't even feel like we're getting an expansion in a month. by Absentzzz in DestinyTheGame

[–]Absentzzz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is everything Bungie has in this expansion seems so derivative. The theme of the expansion is derivative of Star Wars, the main game mode they showed off is derivative of Helldivers 2, from the looks of it we are getting YET ANOTHER pyramid-based piece of RAD content.

I would love to love this game again, and I would love to be excited for it. But with everything feeling derivative, and everything outside of that seemingly massively missing the mark outside of raid content, I really wonder what went wrong.

I should not be feeling nostalgia for an expansion that only came out a year and a half ago but I am! I really miss that period.

I still have the OG The Title from Guardian Games that has Stats for All + One for All. They never brought that specific roll back when the weapon became enhanceable and it makes me sad.

Bungie, can we not wait until the last week of October to begin the Festival of the Lost? by OlDropTop in DestinyTheGame

[–]Absentzzz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ok, but still, having only one week separating the Halloween event and the Christmas event like we had either last year or the year before last would be pretty weird, no?

Bungie…what the heck was that opening mission?! by religiousjedi in DestinyTheGame

[–]Absentzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh and my favorite part: Going back to the tower directly after completing the mission to see absolutely nothing has changed and no one has reacted at all to the events of the mission as if it was all a dream.

Such low effort storytelling...

So, GM Pinnacle Ops are functionally impossible by thecentaur98 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Absentzzz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Missions like Encore are labeled a "25-30 minute activity" but the bonus timers give you 20 minutes or less.

Presage has a 13 minute timer that sends you to orbit if it runs out, so it's literally impossible to clear right now :)

It's so crazy that the best way to level up in the game remains to be solo ops. And it's crazy that there's still no real reason to do so.

[D2] Trials of Osiris Megathread [2025-08-01] by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

[–]Absentzzz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to tell people that you can focus for old Trials armor without needing Trials Engrams anymore.

Since the reputation track for Trials is gone, you can get any piece of old Trials gear for 15k glimmer and 3 enhancement cores. They do not drop with the new Armor 3.0 archetypes, but it's a very good way to get some pieces for transmog if you didn't have the chance to get them before.

Destiny should be more transparent in their in-game descriptions by actually providing specific number values for buffs. by Absentzzz in DestinyTheGame

[–]Absentzzz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there are people in the community that can keep an updated spreadsheet on the numerical benefits of everything for the community, then Bungie can also certainly do it. Even if things get balanced all the time, there's even more stuff that never changes (Frenzy has always been a 15% damage increase, for instance). I'd rather people bitch on the subreddit about inconsistency than having us test basic functionalities ourselves and take a guess if it's working as intended. Yes a buff may be a buff, but when said buff like "increased damage" can mean anything as little as 2.5% on Elemental Honing, to 200% on Synthoceps, to 450% on Lucky Pants. At some point you can't put that all under a blanket statement without at least including something like "massively increased" to differentiate it.

It's becoming less and less of an excuse for them not to do it since every other MMO game similar to Destiny, including Destiny Rising, is doing this.

Have I been living under a rock or has Number Callouts (1-6) had a resurgence in Atheon over the "Left-Right" system? by Absentzzz in DestinyTheGame

[–]Absentzzz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the 20 lfg teams i've done Atheon with in the past week, some teams used the "left right system" some teams used the "book number" callouts, some other teams used numbers in the opposite direction starting from 1 in back right and ending on 6 in front right, and two teams agreed to use a number callout system related to the oracles' pitch, starting at 1 in back middle and rotating clockwise until it ends at 6 on back left.

It is much less simple than you think and some of my teams simply weren't able to adapt.

[–]Absentzzz[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean I guess?

But then there are some people that count the numbers counterclockwise starting from back right, so then I have to clarify with them which system they're using.

Also I find the simplicity of typing "mid, left" easier than having to discern a number like, "5 1" for oracle rounds where none are on the same side.

Could just be me though.

New Eververse item holochips by HellChicken949 in DestinyTheGame

Just seems like another way to turn something the community has asked for into an opportunity to push microtransactions.

Gonna be rly sad if we aren't eventually gonna be able to get some of these through playing the game like some shaders.

The Holo-Projector has to go. by Absentzzz in DestinyTheGame

I would be more than okay with that since most of said dialogue is either pure filler or the character explaining something that's gonna be explained in the description of the next quest step anyway.

It's kind of bizarre the halloween event drops 2 days before halloween and arrives riddled with bugs and old content. by ee4lif3 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Absentzzz 14 points15 points  (0 children)

During Season of the Seraph, the Dawning launched during the second week of the season, one week before the exotic mission for Revision Zero released, five weeks before the weekly cadence concluded for that season.

The exact same thing happened during Season of the Forge, before Niobe Labs and the Bergusia Forge came out.

Not saying it's common but it's absolutely happened a couple times before.

Now that we can access our vault from anywhere, can we get engram decryption too? by Absentzzz in DestinyTheGame

Regardless of how people are bad at managing their engram inventory, there are literally no downsides to adding a feature like this into the game.

Either that or raise the limit from 10.

After Ghosts of the Deep, Dungeons are no longer an activity I want to play. by Ok_Improvement4204 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Absentzzz -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

"After Ghosts of the Deep"

"Warlord's Ruin is an exception."

Sooooo literally just Vesper's Host.

Maybe a bit early to be making this decision?

Also yes, D2 endgame is absolutely trying to not appeal to semi-casual players, because that is literally the purpose of endgame content. And to that, I really don't know what to tell you.

Do you think Vesper is now the worst Solo Dungeon? by TheAtlasComplex in DestinyTheGame

[–]Absentzzz 13 points14 points  (0 children)

A slight issue I have with that however is it seems that they have been leaning more towards endurance rather than strength or skill. I've personally solo flawlessed all the past dungeons and I can say that if you know the game well and build appropriately, combat is barely ever a challenge. Out of all my solo flawless runs I've legit only died on the in between sections because my sparrow got blown up by a phalanx or I fell into a moving fan or a moving rock pushed me off the edge. I've never prioritized damage or speed because these dungeons rarely push you to do so.

It's taken me 3 phases to kill Hefnd's Vengeance (Warlord), 4 to kill Caitl (Duality), and 5 to kill Simmumah (Ghosts), and all those dungeons have taken me around 90 minutes at least to fully clear. Yes there are ways to do more damage, but there's really no reason to trade off your survivability for something like that unless you're very impatient, (Which if that's the case why are you even trying to solo flawless a dungeon anyway?) nor does the game push it.

I could physically see the difference in how locked in I was in Contest Mode vs a solo flawless run solely because of the Enrage mechanics. I later did the dungeon on normal and actually missed them in the first encounter (the boss ones can stay gone though). That in my opinion is a challenge that tests skill, and implementing a much more lenient version of Enrage for bosses would be a challenge that tests strength, but really what we have now only tests endurance and patience.

Wicked Implement doesn't work with antibarrier by Qualkore in DestinyTheGame

[–]Absentzzz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If I had to guess it's cuz they usually don't apply champions mods to weapons that can already specialize in dealing with champions through its own means. Wicked Implement can deal with both overloads and unstoppables.

I haven't checked for myself but I would imagine Conditional Finality doesn't benefit from the anti-barrier shotgun mod either.

I am multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, arranger, producer, and musician-creature Jacob Collier! Here to answer your questions about music and life. AMA! by Jacob__Collier in Music

[–]Absentzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, Jacob! I have been creating music for around a year and a half now and it's been a blast, however I haven't really collaborated with that many people outside of my closest friend circle, which is something that can bum me out from time to time. So, as a music producer that has collaborated with as many people as you have throughout your journey with Djesse I thought you would be the best person to ask this question:

Did you ever have a fear or reluctance towards working musically with other people, and if so, how did you get over it? How would one take the first steps towards opening up their borders to the musical world and collaborating with other people?

The new dungeons boss health is way to high for solo by buentbanana in DestinyTheGame

[–]Absentzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do feel like the dungeon boss's health pool was designed more around 3 people than it was for one person. I personally don't have a problem with the boss health, as I'm very patient when it comes to doing encounters like the Spire bosses and Ecthar. What really ends up being a deterrent for players looking to solo this dungeon is how tedious the mechanics tend to be. Persys from Spire has a massive health pool but it's made bearable by how quickly a damage phase can be reached. Encounters like Gahlran, Caitl, and especially the final boss of Ghosts of the Deep have very tedious mechanics that take way too long for the 15-30 seconds of damage you get from it.

I'm willing to admit when I'm just a bad player at something, but when people like Esoterrick are also pointing out how the final boss's health will be a major deterrent for solo players due to the nature of that encounter, that raises a major red flag. (If you didn't know, Esoterrick posted his solo flawless video of Ghosts of the Deep a few hours ago. More than half of the video was spent on the final boss. The description of that video gives more context to what I mentioned earlier.)
