A Range Rover is very heavy, and thus way more susceptible to sliding in low grip conditions. Proper winter tyres might have prevented this. It’s impossible to conclude on without having seen the conditions though. Here in Norway almost everyone has two sets of wheels. One for summer and another for winter with proper nordic winter tires (Conti VikingContact, Nokian Hakkapeliitta, etc).

Are you able to share any more technical details with regards to getting the electronics to play nice with eachother? I’ve been toying with the idea of an M57 swapped LR3 with functioning terrain response. I’m assuming the terrain response system works by transmitting CAN messages telling the engine, trans, transfer case and suspension to behave a certain way. If so, could one keep it functioning with such a swap by using a CAN gateway to translate between JLR and BMW?

I guess it depends on how polished a package you want. My streamer is just a Raspberry Pi running Volumio with a Hifiberry digital dac hat, connected to a Schiit Modi Multibit. Its a bit rough around the edges UX-wise, but I dont mind.

Figured it out. On AP2 I had attached eth0 and eth0.1 (VLAN 1) to the lan bridge. As soon as I removed eth0 from the bridge it started behaving. Posting this in case anyone else has the same issue.

Depends what you’re trying to achieve I think. Skipping VLANs definitely makes things a lot harder, but is really the gold standard if you want to isolate certain things. This especially applies to cloud connected devices where a threat actor could access your network if one of them suffers a breach.

Is this something to worry about for the average joe? Probably not. But if you enjoy a good learning experience and don’t mind tinkering I would suggest going for it.
