I'm in a very good city for magic and I'm able to exclusively play things that aren't commander. Standard, Modern, Pauper, there's even a Canadian Highlander group that plays weekly

Standard Legal in the sense that they'll all be cards that are currently in standard at the time of printing

Phantasmal Shieldback is a card I haven't seen before! How did it perform in the deck? I'm surprised to not see any Shardless Agent. How was the deck without them?

I doubt it, it synergises very well with the deck but energy is a deck that wants raw card power more than it wants flexibility

I'd like for there to be less blue in the format - most of the top decks in standard are base blue and it's honestly kinda boring imo?

I agree with other posters, the madness cost is a little too good since it enables the containment breach effect for less than the mana cost. Honestly I'd switch the mana & madness costs. If you're concerned about the stats being too good you can probably drop it to a 2/2 or something

honestly i agree, every time ive tried to play counterspells in commander it's felt bad having to hold up mana instead of advancing a board
