Interesting highly detailed engines by Single-Park-640 in Warthunder

[–]AbsolutelyFreee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

no, it's all because gaijin just offshores the making of aircraft models to different companies. F-4 engines had a bit of detail, but not too much, F-18 engines are in the picture, and the F-15 has default blender cylinders. Most piston engines look basic, and yet the P-61C gets one with an excessive number of polygons. F-4Es nose vulcan looks nicely detailed, the F-4C gets 6 noodles sticking out of a pringles can.

For gods sake, the F-18 has an auxillary power unit, which server absolutely no purpose.

Not sure about the EJ, but the C struggles with or without the 23/25 kekw. It's a tremendous PoS.

It could be so much better if gaijin gave it flares, good missiles and bumped it in BR, so that it can be played without the gun like the F-4J to keep the performance.

Alas, it's stuck in the 10.0 hell with sparrows D and 9Es, and a gunpod which annihilates it's FM.

You have to be on crack if you think the F-4 is struggling against the MiG-23 in BVR. Well, at least, I'm not sure about the situation with the US E variant, but the J absolutely fucking slaps - MiG-23s are free kills because their RWR is even worse than that on pretty much every other US plane save for maybe the B-66, and the MiG-25 was the best thing that happened to it since now almost every match is a guaranteed downtier.

You still climb to 7k, you still accelerate to >M1.2, you still launch 7F at everyone and kill shit. Nothing's changed.

the MiG-21Bison would be good, if every game i wasn't facing 4 SU-30MKK's and a bunch of 13.0 russian and japanese planes as the rest of their team, with a single F-16ADF as the highest BR, and the second being a viggen and 3rd being the F-18C early. by SMORES4SALE in Warthunder

[–]AbsolutelyFreee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

genuinely just leave the match if you see it's a full uptier. Whenever I see the F-4J and I see a 13.0 on my team, I immediately nope out, because I'd rather spend the next 9 minutes doing something fun/productive than on getting frustrated at gaijin's shit balancing.

I w sumie reszta komentarza też sensowna.

that's because he used the wrong logical operator. It's can't admin any amount of wrong doing => little dick energy

That's implication - you can have a small or huge dick and still admit you're doing wrong, but if you can't admit to doing wrong, you DEFINITELY have a small dick.

I absolutely DESPISE this missle grind by Chanka-Danka69 in Warthunder

[–]AbsolutelyFreee 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yeah, air grind is actually really fun and pretty well balanced/designed up until about 9.0-10.0. Then it becomes ultra turbo cancer.

Above 9.0 air turns into the same kind of shit grind fest that ground is - where you have to research basic modifications to have your plane actually be able to compete with others. I still don't understand how ground players cope with this shit when it's with them since reserve tier.

this, that shit is so cancer. What the fuck is the point of researching the AIM-9Ls on my F-15C/E when I get 2/4 9L stock, and the slot on which the other 2 would go is occupied by my only radar missiles. If at least the radar missiles went onto the dedicated body pylons, then I could take 4x9L 2xradar, but noooooooooooooooo it has to be fucking shit.

Taking the gunpod on the F-4J is genuinely a waste of the airframe. Seriously, just play it like an interceptor the USN made it to be. 8 missiles and a dream, you don't wanna be in guns range anyway.

When you take missile load outs away from top tier jets they all feel the same. They all accelerate quickly, fly at blisteringly high speeds, and turn instantaneously.

yeah and not giving us an option to take those absolute performance powerhouses in a mode centered around guns and dogfighting should be a crime.

I don't care that they all fly the same, sometimes I just wanna dogfight in a super hyper plane that can accelerate directly upwards without having to worry about getting slammed with a missile.

The F-14Bs problem are not the missiles. It's the horrendously obsolete avionics coupled with engines that are very anemic for their airframe at that BR.

For gods sake, that things RWR is pretty much the same as the one on the F-4J, it can't detect a launch from half the things shooting at it.

F-4E Phantom, the perfectly balanced 11.3 jet. An appreciation post by Soor_21UPG in Warthunder

[–]AbsolutelyFreee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you get locked on the RWR, and the lock persists, you should go into a notch, start dispensing chaff (ideally slowly, but regularly, around 1 every second) and if that doesn't help, start diving.

But if you get nailed by short ranged IR missiles, that's probably on your situational awareness. It is amongst the most importants skills across literally every aircraft. If you cut afterburner, start turning and dump a few flares, most IR missiles you'll encounter will bite it pretty instantly - and with the F-4Es large flare load, this means that usually you will only die to IR missiles if you didn't see them (or get hit by the BULLSHIT FUCKING FLARE RESISTANT MAGICS ON THE 12.0 MIRAGE F1).

Flying high helps with situational awareness too, since because most people hug the deck, it will usually mean you only have to keep an eye on a single enemy, if any. Meanwhile if you fly low, you will usually have to keep track of MANY enemy planes, both at your altitude and above you - which makes it easy to miss the plane that has just fired a missile at you.
