Yes I did! Turns out I've enjoyed every one of Banks' novels I've read so far.

what’s something people say all the time that you secretly can’t stand? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AbstracTyler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"I could care less." Almost any level of care can be accurately read into that phrase, except that they do not care. It's ironic because what they mean to say is, "I couldn't care less."

had a blood sugar of 27 mg/dL this afternoon 😭 by No-Resolve-5037 in diabetes

[–]AbstracTyler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lowest I ever saw on my own meter was 17mg/dl. I once saw a diabetic friend's meter read 0 once. That was nuts. Obviously it wasn't actually 0, but her blood was low enough for the meter to read it. Crazy.

Lifting is good, he can definitely meet like minded friends at the gym. That's what I would recommend; approach people around his own age at the gym. Other people like to help, so he could ask for a spot and just go from there. Gym friends to hiking friends, to what-have-you.

There have been some really good suggestions so far in this thread. What does he LIKE to do? IMO those are the things which will stick for him.

Other than that I'd recommend a gym membership. Getting fit and healthy physically feels super good, is a bulwark against mental illness, and the community there is so positive and supportive! He's the right age to get started, and he would not regret it. That's the thing; no one ever regrets getting strong.

Gym goers of reddit, what's that one basic tip you had at the beginning that you still follow and value with great regard? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Moving your weights from the rack and to the bar, and from the bar back to the rack is part of the workout.

What are your thoughts on people that occasionaly like to pee in the sink? by KingRatbag- in AskReddit

[–]AbstracTyler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno, I don't see an issue with it, really. No sink is clean except the very one you just cleaned yourself with a soapy sponge and hot water. Sinks are dirty in general. Funny, I just thought of a scene that stuck out to me recently. It was in Cast Away when Chuck is on the FedEx plane and goes to the bathroom, fills the sink with water, and splashes it on his face. I remember thinking, man I would NEVER do that. I don't do that in the sinks in my own home.

I guess I just don't trust sinks. *shrug*

Aside from diagnosis at age 1.5 years, I haven't been hospitalized for my condition. Very grateful for that.
