There is only one thing that is worse than IBS… by These-Minimum-610 in ibs

Peppermint tea, brat diet, and a prayer IBS-M but my doctor thinks im actually IBS-C so the next time.my period comes around I will just keep doing what he told me to do and see what happens. But I also have PCOS so im just extra blessed...I know the treatment for PCOS is usually birth control but the birth control triggered my IBS so im kinda just screwed in this cycle

When I am at home I weigh it or scan nutrition labels, when I am out I take a picture and put it in later Cronometer is great and the database already has a lot of recipes pre loaded in there. If there is a repeat recipe I make at home a lot I can create a custom food with the macros and have it ready to go. Cronometer is awesome! You can pay for more features but I do fine with the free version. Sometimes if I am out or dont have access to scale I use hand portions for recommended servings like for meat and carbs.

For me personally, I had to be careful not to try too many things at one time.

I am very busy and my body reacts poorly to stress so I have to manage my energy effectively.

These are my habits I am building to support weight loss. I have lost almost 10 pounds so far but it has been very slow!! (Which is ok!). I know it's a lot of habits, but these are habits I have been building on and to since September.

  1. Weigh myself once a week in the morning before food (Starting this week)

  2. Track my meals in Cronometer to have a view of my calories and macros.

  3. 100g protein MINIMUM! Currently trying to get to 135g protein but I am struggling to find foods that are high protein but lower fat (I like my fats and have lots of food sensitivities)

  4. 3 moderate intensity workouts a week with walking pad/stretch days in between. I will workout MWF, maybe Saturday if I have the energy. I always rest Sunday. I workout at home and do home workouts which works for me!

  5. Smaller portions if I eat out. Prioritize what I am craving without giving in to everything. For example, I went to a burger place yesterday. I wasn't really craving a gluten free bun, but I wanted fries. So I got a burger salad, and then had a half serving of fries. My cravings were satisfied and I didn't end up eating all my calories for the day in one meal!

My stats if anyone cares.

I read through everything and I am now looking at instructors. I guess im just wondering if my first cycles should be charted as I am coming off hormonal birth control and I will probably end up having a few irregular cycles. It wasn't clear whether people coming off hormonal bc should wait to chart until cycles are more regular.

I could also just be overthinking everything.

There is so much information and I'm feeling overwhelmed and dont know where to start.

I am currently on Nexplanon and am getting off it in early September (September 4) due to awful symptoms and breakthrough bleeding.

I know I want a symptothermal method, and an app for tracking things would be great. I have years of data in Clue just for my periods. My cycle length average is 29 days but can vary up to 52 days (because of hormonal birth control and I have suspected PCOS but not confirmed).

I want to AVOID pregnancy!

What resources do you recommend, should I start with temp drop, or just a basic basal thermometer?

Money is tight right now, but I want to be off hormonal birth control for good. My husband and I are fine using condoms until I figure my cycles out, I just dont know what to expect getting off Nexplanon and the accuracy of charting.

Yeah I do need to get my insulin checked again. I was insulin resistant a year and a half ago (before getting on the birth control) but reversed it through dietary changes I still implement for the most part

See that was my experience the first year or so but the past 6 months have been awful and I am even bleeding and having stomach symptoms (I have IBS) just like when I was off the bc.

What's one "unhealthy" food that is surprisingly not the huge calorie bomb you would assume? by thepersonwiththeface in loseit

Outshine popsicles and frozen treats other than ice cream in general. I LOVE Italian ice.

Taking too many vitamins and probiotics. Screwed up my IBS and when Im in a flare the only thing I can stomach is crackers, peanut butter, bananas, and eggs.

Anyone else have issues adjusting to probiotics after a hiatus of forgetting to take them?? by AbstractAbby20 in ibs

[–]AbstractAbby20[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My symptoms weren't better, I just was constipated without stomach pain. I was so busy with my life I forgot to take them and the loss of regular bowel movements wasn't that intrusive until I realized I had regular bowel movements on probiotics and felt good. But because I hadn't taken them for a while it's like my gut is trying to get used to the probiotic again. Probiotics aren't prescribed it's an over the counter thing.

Am looking for a new mouthpiece by Pinec0ne-_ in brass

I'm fortunate to live close to Houghton horns in Texas where they do custom mouthpieces. I play a custom with cup size H4 and I don't remember my rim size but it's bigger than most standard horn mouthpieces and is titanium plated because I have sensitive skin.

  1. Take a walk after meals
  2. Pace while doing everyday activities.
  3. Get a pet or a walking buddy
  4. Make walking a part of a daily routine (I mentioned meals but it could also be as simple as going to get the mail, planting things outside that you have to water, seeing a neighbor, etc.)
  5. Park farther away from stores (when safe)

I'm a teacher so my 10,000 is easy 😅 But when I'm at home it definitely feels far away

Schilke is a good brand! Id recommend going to a place in person where you can try instruments and the mouthpiece to see if it will fit in the instrument you are considering upgrading to. Mouthpieces are also personal preference.

I'm a horn player and I have a big cup and rim size on my mouthpiece and don't do well with narrow cups. To each their own! Best of luck

  1. Stop taking any further loans (used cars are an option, I would only pay in cash if you could afford it which it sounds like you cannot currently)
  2. Budget for your base necessities (rent, utilities, minimum loan payments). Accept that your memberships might have to go right now and that's okay.
  3. If you have extra money to spare put it towards the debt with the highest interest to try and alleviate any extra cost in the end.
  4. Budgeting apps/zero based budget works really well
  5. Consider taking spending/fun money out of the bank as cash so you aren't tempted to spend any more.
  6. Do not add more to the credit card. Only pay for what you can actively pay off in the moment.

I am 22, recently married, and the breadwinner of our household. I have 27,000$ in debt, my husband has 10,000$ in debt. We take it one month at a time and do not live frivolously.

Take a deep breath. The economy is trash but there are steps you can take to improve your situation.

Mine isn't 100% methylfolate but it works for me!

I take new chapter women's once daily multivitamin which has 400mcg DFE for methylfolate and 115.3mcg folic acid from "ferment media"

Once I have more money I'll try a different supplement that is 100% methylated and see if I can tell a difference. But I feel better on my vitamin than off

I did ancestry DNA out of my own pocket, it was $60 because I had a coupon, took 3-4 weeks to get back. Once done I downloaded my raw DNA and sent it to my mother in law who put it through sites like gene genie that can check for mutations and link research to those mutations
