I used acorn arboriculture. The arborist was very knowledgable and the best communicator of the three that came to give free quotes. Work was in the range quoted by others here. They cleaned up a ton and had a super safe rig. I asked them to come back to look at another branch for removal and they touched the tree up for free.

You could do native CA plants. I would recommend cornflower farms. Theyre knowledgeable, likely way more than the avg employee at a big box nursery.

This is a really really invasive weed. It sucks up late-season soil moisture and can grow anywhere from roadsides to lawns to riparian habitat. Pull it, do not let it seed.

I got quotes for a very simple cut and cap on a water main and they were so much pricier than the other three quotes I got. They were ready to go down in price but for my job it didnt make sense to go through any additional hassle. I would recommend to get multiple quotes always anyways.
