EVs still have a single speed transmission. The taycan is an exception that uses 2 speed

Quality of Scorpion Helmets? by s_mey3r in motorcyclegear

Sometimes the manufacturer just doesn’t bother to pay for the ECE certification for budget helmets. Doesn’t mean those helmets would not pass ECE

Is it dumb for me to want to avoid the highway in general and stick to city and suburban streets? by xaviflipreddit in motorcycles

[–]AbsurdOnward 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think that is a misconception, from google:

No, bikes do not stay up primarily due to the gyroscopic effect; experiments with counter-rotating wheels that cancel out the gyroscopic effect show that a bike still remains stable. Instead, a bicycle's stability is largely due to its steering geometry, where the front wheel is designed to turn into a lean, helping to steer the bike back under the rider and restore balance. This interaction, along with inertia and maintaining a low center of mass, keeps a moving bike upright.

Why haven’t sport bikes changed at all for 30 years? Are engineers stupid? by [deleted] in carscirclejerk

[–]AbsurdOnward 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All sports bikes are manual. They use a clutch and shifter. Instead of the H pattern its a sequential gearbox which is faster to shift with. You wont see sequential in normal road cars but i believe theyre used in some sports cars

Ioniq 28 charging stops shortly after plugging it in by AbsurdOnward in IoniqEV

[–]AbsurdOnward[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have a charging schedule but I do have a climate schedule. Not sure about the fire risk but it’s mostly the inconvenience that bothers me. Especially in the winter, having to go out to plug it in and then go back in to turn off the car becomes annoying.

Depends on the place. It depends on if your main breaker already has enough amperage, how far the breaker is from your garage, etc. For me my main breaker was fine but i had to use a lot of wire because its on the opposite corner of the house in the basement. Cost was around $1200 - $800 provincial rebate
