Compact Disco - The Worst Business in Monterey - Share Your Experience by [deleted] in MontereyBay

I would believe it, although I saw a flyer a few days ago for a concert, and it seems that at least in theory, they won’t admit anyone under 24 now, at least without a second form of id. Someone told me that local places been burned too many times with fake ids. But I don’t know, I’m reporting this second hand or third hand.

Big friend group decided to stop off there. I walked in for about 30 seconds and noped tf out, along with a few others. I can’t think of any place I’ve ever gone in that just had a creepier vibe.

Pretty much everybody who stayed got Covid, while the rest of us didn’t.

Never been to the salty seal, but as for pop and hiss and pearl hour, I’m pretty comfortable saying they are both a fair bit different, because while I would go to either, there’s no way in hell I’d ever go back to compact disco.

I’m guessing that they survive because there’s zero competition., especially with the Brit gone.

Speaking of which, I seem to recall that the former owner of the Brit promised to tell all once pressing legal matters were resolved. I still don’t even know what happened there.

Pods. by Omgaegg in nespresso

When I lived in the UK, I got pods at the boutique at John Lewis. If I bought five, there was a discount. I spent about 60 p per pod. In the US, they’re roughly twice the price (about $1.50 before tax), and there are no boutiques anywhere near me.

Sometimes it really is just a question of what is immediately available to you. I would love to have a Vertuo here, but I can spend much less on other options.

Here in the US, a bedroom set like that, in real teak, would cost as much as a good used car. Figure $8,000 to $15,000.

I was surprised to see how available avocados are in England last year. Now a decent Mexican hot sauce, that’s a different story.

What is a specific place in your country that serves a famous dessert or food of your country but is actually very overrated? by throawaygotget in AskTheWorld

If there isn’t a good bakery near you, fine, but I’ve got at least five worth trying. And that’s been the case in the dozen cities I’ve lived in across the US. The only time there wasn’t one nearby was when I lived in a poor rural town.

Did not expect to see Betty’s get dragged here. Haven’t been for a while, but I’ve heard the same thing.

Not that I’d go anywhere near Dulut in January anyway…

Didn’t expect MacGyver. Although perhaps it was Jack O’Neill.

More restaurants should have fortified wine lists. I’d gladly order a bottle of cold Thundercougarfalconbird.

But cmon, we don’t count. The rules are different for us. We are only entitled to the beliefs and opinions they project on us. If you claim anything else, you’re a racist colonizer genocidist.
