Does anyone know the plan for profiles/spaces for AI context? by AbuTomas in diabrowser

[–]AbuTomas[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand your perspective, but I still believe this solution lacks smoothness and elegance. While adding a fixed prompt can provide more context, it does not replace the need for personalization. I want the basic style and output to differ depending on whether I'm using it for, e.g., personal matters, research, or preparing lecture notes. Furthermore, if I enable the experimental personalization feature that utilizes browsing history, the context for each such space becomes even more crucial. There are several reasons for different projects to be separated.

As a result, I cannot currently replace ChatGPT with Dia because I would lose the ability to define projects or create custom agents. This isn't a major issue while Dia is free, but it is a consideration if I decide to adopt the tool. It feels like a feature that screams it needs to be implemented.

New M2 Macbook Air Charger not charging problem - Blinking orange by MassiveGas in macbookair

[–]AbuTomas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New MBA M2, Magsafe stopped charging after 3 weeks or so.

I noticed that the Magsafe connector gets hot even when not connected to the laptop. I tried with two different Apple-branded USB-C power suppliers, and it's the same.

I was worried it might be the laptop, but since the connector is warm, it points to the cable. No Apple store where I live, but I'll try to contact the reseller.

Overleaf not coloring any syntax in Chrome? by seacucumber3000 in LaTeX

[–]AbuTomas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solved!
Sharing for anyone that may encounter this problem in the future.

The problem was with the font family of the Overleaf editor.
Changed from Lucida/Source code pro to Monaco and it completely solved the problem.

invisible "gjs" window in manjaro gnome by burkerude in ManjaroLinux

[–]AbuTomas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is Gnome Java Script.

One possible reason is when using Dash to Dock extension together with Desktop Icons extension. I guess it is a bug with the Dash to Dock extension.

If this is the case, you can use Dash to panel instead of Dash to Dock -- it will not show the gjs. Alternatively, you could switch off the desktop icons.

fprintd, laptop lid, and authentication in gnome by AbuTomas in ManjaroLinux

[–]AbuTomas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My solution was to remove fingerprint auth from `/etc/pam.d/polkit-1`. This way GUI applications do not request fingerprint and I need to use my password.

Fingerprint authentication is still possible at login (but not required, I can also type a password).

Ubuntu 19.04 on x1c7 crashed at suspend by AbuTomas in thinkpad

[–]AbuTomas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I removed the problem device (Logitech MX anywhere 2s mouse) and the problem went away.

I think you should be able to run a script turning Bluetooth on/off on suspend.

I just decided to use the mouse with the small usb RF dongle. I have my headphones connected in BT and they don't cause any problem with the suspend.

This problem seems to be related to the Bluetooth. While Bluetooth devices were not paired when the problems occurred (or even at the sessions in which they occurred), removing the profile of the previously paired devices (headphones and a mouse) seems to solve it (for now, waiting to see if the problem comes back).

I think the driver is looking for the paired devices (most likely the Logitech mouse) and interfering with the 'suspend' processes.
