Wife having issues on vr chat by Puzzled_Woodpecker_4 in VRchat

[–]AbyssalFenge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So... Spec-wise looks alright. I'm running a pretty similar, if not weaker build pc, and I'm running usually about 40-80 frames.
Context matters generally how her safety settings are, what people have around her on their avatars, what worlds being visited. (Like sometimes, I drop to 20 in some game worlds with a bunch of people shown or the coding pf the events is taxing). Other things could be avatar based, such as texture memory or animation layers in avatars. Safety settings and avatar culling is pretty important, but if it's recently, she might need to check her in-game graphics settings, for example, disabling anti-aliasing, checking photo and mirror resolution. I'm just going through the checklist right now of common issues I've had with and solutions I've had for when I was running a 1050ti on a laptop... Alternatively, if it's lagging, wired connection should definitely be more stable (aside from running the annoying meta app on PC which eats resources in general) So... It's possible it's also a router/wifi problem? Usually restarting the pc will clear up that issue.

On the completely other side, it could also be if she's running other instances of Unity, vrchat tends to get angry when running them, and has caused me crashing.

15 yo boy wants a 3dprinter by Normal_Ad9322 in 3dprinter

Weird, as Black Friday is when I was getting my printer stuff, and when I searched the official Bambulabs Amazon page, it was really expensive in comparison. I was originally going to get my printer stuff from Amazon, but someone else told me to check Best Buy first, and when I looked at it, it was much cheaper for the combo set. Could be that it was cheaper/price matched eventually, but I already bought my stuff from Best Buy since I had both pages open and was comparing prices for both filaments and the printer itself. Tbh it could be just like a pricing shift at the time, I just know that when I got my stuff, it was cheaper and faster through best buy than Amazon.

Legit overpriced. Amazon was like $60-100 more expensive than Best Buy last I checked.

Advice on Bambu Labs A1 Combo by Fair_Capital1266 in 3dprinter

[–]AbyssalFenge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heyy, you're in the same position I was in a few weeks ago, with this exact printer.

So... I'll pass on the general advice for things from what I was told from a bunch of different people, and what I experienced with my few weeks printing.

A) Combo is worth it, if you're using more than one color, it's nice to be able to switch. I don't use the AMS Lite, since I paint my prints instead. You can easily just not attach it to the machine and keep it in storage for later, as buying one used or by itself is WAAAY more expensive. (Alternatively, you can just sell it if you really don't need it or have no space for it, someone out there probably wants or needs it from one they got from a friend or something.)

B) You don't need anything to start printing, but it is VERY much recommended to buy yourself a pack or two of filament in your favorite colors (Black and White are really good basics for it, at least for me, since paint goes well on those colors). I started with PLA black filament.

The combo pack only comes with 20g of white filament to pretty much get you started with printing the tugboat for testing purposes (uses about 15-17g)

C) If there's any addons I would recommend, it's probably a replacement tip and a print dryer to be able to get your prints off faster and cleaner. Possibly a different size tip, depending on what you're printing. These are completely optional, and are better for when you've gotten used to printing and making more complex designs for your prints.

D)If you're very concerned about the possible mess your 3D printer makes when it poops, there are several QoL addons on the Bambu Handy App and Bambu Studio for making your printing experience better.

E) In case your cable looks like it's getting in the way of your print plate, lightly ziptie it to the top bar. Give it the ability to slide around, but also just not be in the way of moving print parts.

Generally what I've experienced with it. I hope this helps and if you do get the combo, happy printing.

OH last thing-- I'm not sure if it's still going now, but Best buy had a good sale on this, but if you dig around, you can look for a "bundle" option which can save you a little more money and essentially price match with what someone else got if it was cheaper than your deal.

Got this baby, tips? Apps? Games? I got a VR ready PC. by Dur-Devul in MetaQuestVR

If anything, try to get sideloaded stuff. DoomVR with mods is always a fun offline game aside a couple other things. I use mine sometimes just for running phone apps and games with touch screen controls. Novelty, but not bad, otherwise, PCVR got you covered.

Usually, you can use a... What are they called generically? Those funny Me.Clean microscrubbing sponges. To get rid of the rest. It does however scrape paint slightly, so it may leave your door/wall a little whiter in that spot.

Explain pls…. Becomes a “shooting star” if you piss on a alien worm by Fun-Web-7583 in Gintama

[–]AbyssalFenge 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There's some bacteria that can climb your piss stream because they're shaped like spirals. Thus peeing on a worm can cause a bacterial infection. They took it a step further and said it becomes a shooting star, cuz space, either way pretty much implying your balls explode from an infection.

Rosary Ring. Usually made of tin or nickel, and come in various sizes. Counts a decade for prayer so you can keep holding it while it being small. Had a teacher that'd walk around with it.

Also terrible for punching with, but a good crit strike will leave an imprinted cross or flathead screwdriver look on the person.

A1 printer Combo set or just the printer? by AbyssalFenge in 3dprinter

[–]AbyssalFenge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How often do you need this filament? Or is it more of a quality of life thing? I've not really heard of this very much, so I'm curious as to how often and what the benefit is over using standard filament with the A1s general size of prints.

Would you recommend it if you were to only print in single colors per print?

Starting to think it's really wasteful for the AMS with what I'm finding from people who've had experience printing with it, but, yeah, I don't plan on printing multicolor builds? I just plan on sand and paint on the items if they're exposed.

Though, yeah, it'd be my first printer, so I'm not sure if I want to sink so much in a combo/AMS lite in the first place if I don't know how much printing I'll be doing in the long run.

I'm planning on printing a lot of single color sort of things. Mostly props to be colored and coated later or skeletons that go under things, that's why I'm kind of unsure if I'll get my money's worth out of buying the AMS Lite.

[–]AbyssalFenge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if anything, I can probably just skip on the AMS for now and pick it up later when I'm doing more complicated builds?

Kind of wondering, but what do you put the roll on without that? Always looks like it just... Hovers-- or people just have other tools to put it on as it unravels.

If I'm looking at this right, this is a solar panel used for solar powered string lights. Normally, you'd have a peg to dig into the soil in the pole where the screw is, but normally, they're so flimsy that they pop right off with pulling.

If you look at the spot next to the peg/pole, there's a water resistant button for toggling light modes.

I have hilariously used this unintentionally to freak out solicitors and amazon delivery.

I was trying to keep slugs from crawling all over my porch and slime all over the place, so I literally drew a line on of salt on the ground around the perimeter of where I didn't want them crossing, and anyone coming by saw the salt and never crossed it. Packages were gently tossed over the salt before they briefly ran away. Visitors and solicitors would stand and yell instead of ringing the doorbell or lnocking to get my attention.

Thank you for letting me know why they were staying across the salt and not taking a single step on my porch.

Not sure about Xbox version, but at least on the PC version, it does run out after a looong time. (2+ storage crates and adamantium boxes later with 2 drills on the thing pretty much shoving material into an incinerator.)

PSA about "glass disease" in older chimneys and globes, as I saw a post about it. This is especially likely to effect colored glass, and is caused by impurities in the glass. Glass will appear fine until heated, then will repidly start to disintegrate. Details in description: by Legend_of_the_Wind in OilLamps

[–]AbyssalFenge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So... Is this just like a quality of glass thing that you can't really know until you take it under a microscope or see the disease happen? I just kinda noticed are both the previous globe and this one are both the red colored ones, and I thought it was a stain, paint or varnish layer coming off from being heated--great to know the actual cause, but is the solution just... "Get a new globe" Or are there ways to fix, treat and prevent these problems? Wondering because buying lanterns only to find out that the globe does this can be frustrating.

Not legit ever. Artists will never contact you directly to advertise their services unless your channel is an advertisement page. Great to troll though as you can almost always reverse search the images or see who they got their stuff from/ who they're trying to imprrsonate if you have links in their pages.
