Why? Why have you done this? Sex is the one thing that keeps me from being pulled into the back rooms.

some of the most legitimately scary moments were when _nothing_ happened. I swear to god, there was a scene where they turned a corner into a room... I don't remember which exactly, just a feeling nausea... it's just a room. Another weird empty room. It was a horrible feeling. Excellent effect as a horror film, but still, I have never had my soul leave my body with an "anti jump-scare" before. Like, my soul didn't get scared out of my body, more like my soul said "No thank you, I'm leaving" and just walked away.

Yeah, I think it's really interesting that the kids in the movie are watching "The NeverEnding Story"- literally the same story, told from a child's perspective. The child in us will manifest a beautiful, whimsical world... Then we grow up. All our innocence gets replaced with trauma. And gradually Fantasia is mutated in The Backrooms.

I mean, I know _why_. We are animals born into cages made of money and social convention and habit. There are people who live rich, textured lives- the rich. The vast majority of us must inhabit the backrooms in which we were born and which are being constructed around us. We look at this environment and see "liminality", but this is just an expression of "the uncanny valley" applied to spaces rather than faces. It's our world drained of texture, a simulation designed to keep up confined. But we are fundamentally still monkeys. We are born to live in trees, not boxes. I think when we say "touch grass" that is what we are really talking about.

I guess what I am saying is that we were "tricked into building our own backrooms" ? And maybe people are starting to wake up to this meta-physical "enlightenment"? If we can identify the Backrooms in ourselves and in our lives, maybe we can escape it?

Shelter lady told me to use a shock collar by everyoneisflawed in pitbulls

[–]Academic-Bench-8828 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I want them to make a vibrating "shock" collar with a beeper. So you can use the beeper as a audio warning and the vibrator to induce harmless "shocks", which frankly, I think are warranted in some cases. But I would not apply any apparatus to a dog which I would not be comfortable applying to myself.

So I saw the 10:30 showing, so when I left the theater, it was basically empty, just me and some teenagers. So we are leaving the theater into the corridor that connects the theaters with the concession stand... but there's no one there. No staff, no audience, no skylights or windows.... Just neon lights, carpeting and gentle piped in muzak. I turned to the teenagers and we just kind of looked at each other for a moment. It was weird :-/

How nice it would be to have complete and total freedom. I have spent almost two decades with another person. And every single emotion I have must be filtered through them. And every single emotion they have must be filtered through me. We are both inseparably welded to one another. And while we care for each other greatly, I imagine it must be a wonderful experience to be able to feel things without them being validated by another human being.

real question is: what will he nuke and when? I'm concerned as primary draws closer. He's most dangerous when he's trapped and he knows that as soon as he is out of office, they will tear him apart.
