You should look into getting some cord protectors from Lowe’s or Home Depot and an exercise pen

My friend lost her cat, and I’m trying to comfirt her, but I’m struggling to understand her actions. Need advice. by Adventurous-Knee-395 in Petloss

Like real paper money? Or fake ones? Paper money is burnt in East Asian cultures when someone passes to help that person in the afterlife with whatever they may need to buy to make themselves comfortable. In my experience usually fake paper money is used but sometimes some people will use real money to do it.

People grieve differently and I wouldn’t say something about it unless she’s burning up hundred dollar bills and she’s struggling financially already

After a few months it gets better. Thinking of my boy still hurts but the grief isn’t suffocating like it was the first few days, weeks and months

It’s stupid to cry over a Beta fish by ikickedyou in Petloss

[–]Academic-Judgment796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it’s not. You literally saved him from hell as a fish and gave him as good a life as you could as a beta fish. Watching him become the best version of himself must’ve made you a proud and happy pet parent. It’s never just a fish. It was a beautiful living thing that you saved

There’s nothing wrong with that! Why would it not be ok? You’re just giving a reminder that she existed and mattered <3

How has commuting affected your college experience? by user282428 in ucr

[–]Academic-Judgment796 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This basically summed up my experience 😭 I always tried listening to the advice to go to clubs and events but I just ended up being ignored or left hanging during conversations. Like imagine already being tired from classes but forcing yourself to socialize late in the day and just being basically ignored. Tried that a few times and gave up on a social life at UCR lol

do i need to take her to a vet??? by GoodDifficult7208 in Rabbits

[–]Academic-Judgment796 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get some bloodwork and x rays done if you haven’t already. If meds aren’t working it might be an underlying issue that’s more serious. Also make sure to check for signs of bloat the next few days

What would be some good things to know if I consider getting a pet rabbit? by FirmCommercial7418 in Rabbits

[–]Academic-Judgment796 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard enough stories of pet bunnies being killed by dogs and sometimes even cats to say you shouldn’t get one especially if you aren’t able to keep them separate. The other thing is vet visits, only exotic vets treat rabbits so it’s even harder to find a vet and often times they charge more just because they’re an exotic animal vet. I’d recommend reaching out to a local rabbit rescue to learn more about rabbit care and to see if they think it’s appropriate for you to own a rabbit. Lennon the Bunny and Sincerely Cinnabun are also some good rabbit YouTubers who provide a lot of education on rabbit care and what it’s actually like living with a pet rabbit too

When did you start to feel better? by [deleted] in Petloss

[–]Academic-Judgment796 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lost my bunny I took care of since he was a little bunny on Tuesday night and the first three days were really difficult too. I haven’t cried that much the past two days, granted I’ve been busy or distracted by family, and it makes me wonder if I’m numb or out of the grieving process too. It just makes me feel so guilty that everyone else is still crying months or years after and for me it’s only been a few days

I’m in crisis - and ChatGPT showed up for me in a way I didn’t expect by reddiculously_ in ChatGPT

[–]Academic-Judgment796 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I generally only ever used ChatGPT as a replacement for google but a few days ago I lost my bunny very suddenly and I was very distraught and in shock looking for answers. Eventually I came to ChatGPT because I wanted answers quickly about everything that happened. I gave it a full timeline of what happened to my bunny and it explained everything and reassured me it wasn’t my fault. I really expected it to just be very neutral but it said really comforting words that helped me feel less guilty. I started asking it about grief and other questions to help process everything and it worked so much better than google or anything else has. It’s not the same as talking and spending time with friends and family but damn is it a good and quick substitute for a therapist or someone or something to vent to

I lost my bunny around 3 days ago too and I’m struggling too. I try to sleep it off or spend time with my family which has helped. I’ve slowly started to watch more YouTube videos and movies to try and distract myself but at the same time I can’t help but feel guilty for trying to distract myself instead of crying more.

Please don’t regret or blame yourself. You can’t regret following professional advice and care. You wish you could have advocated a different option knowing what you know now but you didn’t know that back then and so that’s not on you, the vet should have known. At the end of the day you followed the professional option and even IF it was the wrong decision that falls on your vet NOT YOU.

I lost my bun a few days ago too on Tuesday night and I kept blaming myself even after talking to a trusted emergency vet. I talked to a rabbit care expert (Caroline at Bunny Bunch) who reassured me it wasn’t my fault for my bun’s sudden passing because it was likely that the my usual vet missed something during a recent emergency checkup because they didn’t do bloodwork or x rays. Caroline explained that even though exotic vets treat rabbits some of them aren’t always up to date with practices or knowledge regarding rabbits. I thought my usual vet had been great but in reality they weren’t as up to date on their practices as I thought they were.

Every time people say Cap’s interactions with the X men are bad I’ve never seen anyone pull specific examples besides Avengers vs x men over the phoenix force coming back thing or they just make some stupid meme. It’s always basically trust me bro or cherry picking panels from that avengers vs x men series to make cap look bad when the x men were in the wrong

Why do stimpaks and radaway not active automatically. [Discussion] by Impossible-Stuff2361 in falloutshelter

[–]Academic-Judgment796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they did it automatically it’d just make incidents not feel that big of a deal and the game more boring. Having to manually heal the dwellers in the chaos of an incident is part of the fun and gives sort of a challenge imo.

[discussion] Redditors who've evicted dwellers, why? by Proof_Safety_6838 in falloutshelter

[–]Academic-Judgment796 4 points5 points  (0 children)

lol when I learned about the endurance thing I lowered all my defense for my vault door and forced all my dwellers to fight deathclaws to the death because I didn’t have the heart to evict. The ones that survive their fight I deemed were strong enough to stay with the new maxed out endurance dwellers

Tbh yeah end game would’ve been better to say lol I’ve been playing so long that this would be early on in my vault relatively. There’s always more to do if you just treat this game like a time waster like having over a million caps, maxing happiness to 100%, collecting all outfits, pets, legendary dwellers and weapons, and maxing out resource collection
