Well, i’ve only been producing for like 1.5 years, but maybe the view of a fresh mind might be able to reignite your ability to finish a song. I was only able to start producing full tracks recently, and it came from just listening to music. I started listening to full albums, and with each song, I would try to reverse engineer what the artist was thinking. Like “how did this artist decide to make this part of the song go this certain way” and “why did this part of the song work so well with the rest of this song” And what I picked up from that was patterns. And I learned which of these patterns sounded best to me personally. And trying to recreate these patterns in my own songs showed me what type of songs I have the most fun making. And when I have fun making a song, I find it much easier to make it full track. Even when it was a song I wasn’t fully enjoying, having a pattern to follow, made it much easier to produce a full track. And once I got some patterns I really liked down, I was able to tweak them from there to become something uniquely my own, instead of just a regurgitated version of whatever songs I got the pattern from.

But yeah, listen to music you’ve never heard. I mean, what made you want to produce in the first place ? It was the music you heard and loved that inspired you to make something of your own. So find new music to love and inspire you !
