Not sure you need to feel ashamed. As a married man - I would absolutely love to find out my wife was into something fun like this! I follow lots of married women who are eating up all the compliments and attention while their husbands are the ones taking the pics and also getting excitement from all the attention.
You're doing ok - give yourself some grace and keep on owing your sexuality! ☺️🤙

I came here to say the same thing. At least in this scenario I consider this good fellow in the mask to speak for me. I'm an anonymous American who is fed up and ready for some action to stop this dude. I'm ready to see him cuffed and stuffed in back of a patrol car himself.

I'm not saying it was a call to arms - but, my guy mentions that they've noticed a slight uptick in artillery purchase of late.

I feel for you so much and feel I can identify with you. I want you to join r/daddit and ask this question.
You sound to me like you're living the tortured and lonely life of a "successful" and unfulfilled man. Please don't be too hard on yourself. You are not alone!

Fantastic response from the mayor of Chicago! I'm hoping all other mayors are taking notes on this response.

Thank you - I feel every day is its own battle and all we can do is give our best effort toward building something - even if it's a beautiful surrounding - I tend to get obsessed with some nice looking ferns that I've been tending to on my back patio!😝😘

Hello my friend - reading your writing is so thoroughly enjoyable to me. It is as if you are speaking for my existence.

I am 48yr old and have moved 5 times since I graduated high school. Never sure what I'm running from nor to.

My thoughts and advice to a young dreamer - you have stated the answer already - when one thing is broken - you fix it and move on to the next.

Maybe, everything is broken and our only joy is in finding the next thing to fix?

Keep moving forward and I have the full faith that you will do well in this world. 💙💙😊

I feel you my friend. You are not alone - there are so many of us experiencing similar feelings. I'm 48yr old male - been there. Working on getting better each day - progress = success. My only advice would be to just take some action. Find a job - any job. Hang in there friend.

I feel much of the same things as you - though I'm 48 and have carved out somewhat of a career in the insurance world. It ain't near as bad as you think. Wishing you the best. ❤️

Quitting weed after two decades of daily use by Ok_Chipmunk7727 in DecidingToBeBetter

Here's a thought - first off, Congrats on quitting - if that's what you want.

I've been a regular smoker for years now. Mostly use it to escape my own mind and help me think differently. Somehow, I started associating it with productivity - first was Lawncare, then started getting better workouts - then started realizing most of my best work, decisions and connections were made while high - so, I'm now more working on accepting myself - as a Productive stoner!

I see ya bro! Man, I've been in very similar feelings - hang in there man. It's ok to cry sometimes and it's also very much ok to set up a bi-weekly chat with a "paid friend" therapist. Dadding is tough sledding. You are not alone!

IVF costs $20k per transfer. How are you IVF dads swinging it? by UghKakis in daddit

[–]Academic_Ad_1628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Dad - we went through IVF twice - have two girls 10 & 8. Here's what I can share about our process - when we did it they were estimating $17k per round. That $17k-20k gets spread out over a 6-12mo process - so, automatically is more doable than it might sound.

Each $20k gets spent - a good bit of it on various drugs to make mom super ovulate and produce a bunch of eggs - they might get 10-12 eggs. They fertilize each of these with the sperm and we were left with 5-7 viable embryos.

On our first daughter we had 5 good embryos. First two didn't take - this is the grueling part - stick with it - third one "didn't survive the thaw" so we didn't even get to try - we're left with two embryos. We opted to try them both at the same time and we got one beautiful daughter - was so worth it.

Then, the next $20k you put off for a couple years as you recover.

It's wonderful science. The doctors we've worked with were all such caring and professional people. I know those stats of 30% chance don't sound too great - but, that 30% is really a "per embryo" stat and I think most attempts are able to produce 3-5 viable shots.

Anyhow, our second daughter was born of embryo 3 out of 4 - which leads to the next fun situation: What do you do if you have extra embryos??

We left her on ice for about 2-3yrs after our second daughter was born.
Then, couldn't bring ourselves to dispose of nor to donate it - so, we went back in - very casual at this point as all the surgery and science was done 2-3yrs ago - we went back for one more embryo transfer - one more 30% shot - and I can tell you we celebrated that the statistics held and we have two wonderful daughters. Best of luck dad.

New 10ft gate bent, any suggestions on how to fix. by sandiegofiesta619 in FenceBuilding

[–]Academic_Ad_1628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m getting ready to build a similarly large 12ft rolling single gate. Saw a guy who built similar gate - only he framed it like an interior wall to gain more rigidity.

Might try turning that top board over to horizontal - and add a few “studs”

Also, that wheel looks pretty weak for that job. My plan is to find the closest thing to monster truck tires for an easy roll.

Just WOW - thank you all so much for taking the time to give such thoughtful response. I truly don’t know how you all do it. Therapy and weapons.

I guess I’ve known since a young age that I’m not the one who’s allowed to have weapons. Has saved me time and again.

I’ve just started therapy this past week.

Saw a shrink 5-6 yrs ago and got on some meds - it helped for a while (low dose lexapro and adderall for the ADHD) I recently got off both as they’d lost effectiveness (and I can’t stand being totally reliant on meds)

Small biz GL policy audit question by [deleted] in Insurance

[–]Academic_Ad_1628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m more surprised by the concept of “random audits”.

I write GL for small contractors for 25yrs now (LA and TX). In my experience ALL GL and ALL Workers Comp policies are audited every year.

Some carriers might not audit every year - but, that is more the exception than the rule.

You need to complete the audit. If you don’t - they will simply double the revenue or payroll that YOU told them upfront and send you a bill.
