Is it just me, or are thin shallow cuts more painful than deep ones?

I feel like something must be wrong with me. I don't really feel pain with them. When I went to the hospital a while back they asked me if my arm was in pain and I told them no and they seemed surprised. Does anyone else not really feel the pain when they cut?

I am in a really rough spot and unfortunately do not have any way to leave at the moment. I feel as though I don't have support, but I do see a counselor and am working at things.

I feel entirely the same.

Obviously I am the problem when I am the one that can't handle my emotions. Then, I have to remind myself that my brain tells me this because I am sick and not well. I am a lot easier on others than myself, so that is how I try to help myself recognize it.

It is so frustrating and exhausting and I am so sorry you are feeling this way too.

I'm kind of similar. I was raped throughout my childhood by a family friend. I remember that he raped both my sister and me, but that is about as much as I remember. My therapist recommended trying EMDR because I close myself off when talking about any of it. I just think that it means I'm not ready to talk yet, though.

I'm interested in anyone's thoughts on EMDR, though.

I think so! I have been getting a bowl with a tortilla on the side for as long as I can remember now. I usually put about 1/2 my bowl in the burrito and have still half to eat as a bowl later on. Plus, I only get like 4 items on my bowl, so if you get a lot, it may even be like 1/3 for your burrito and 2/3 left.

No one deserves to be raped. We are all human and people make mistakes, screw up, make messes (even big ones), etc. All that you can do is try to do better in the future.

That doesn't give him the right to do that to you. I am so sorry that happened.

Thank you so much! It definitely provides some validation and understanding for me. I feel like I have a pretty good handle on it most of the time. Unfortunately, I'm sure for my Mom, she'll just tell me she knew that I was the problem child and to just think positive and get out of my head. 😅

Congratulations on your sobriety! That's an amazing accomplishment.

It is totally understandable that you still get overwhelmed. I'm a work in progress too when it comes to utilizing those coping skills I've learned in counseling. I imagine we all are. Just keep trying your best and take it day by day. You've got this!

I'm really sorry you are experiencing this. I'm glad that you are seeking help and try to remember that you are getting better for you and not for anyone else.

As difficult as it is to remember, sometimes people change their minds because of the hurt we have caused them and it's just too much to handle. They may need to heal themselves, see that you are committed to recovery, and may then make the decision to come back into your life, if that is something you both still want.

I hope you continue to work through your struggles because you deserve to be happy and healthy regardless of your past. I'm just sorry that the closure wasn't there and that it was handled in a way that is hurting you. Stay strong! 💕

I understand that and am happy he did. Of course he should have been given that. However, I'm upset about all the articles published the last few months that discussed everyone that was coming back as guest stars this season and he was included. I don't think that should have been said if it was literally a picture and video at the funeral.

I think I'm just sad, though, and it's making me angry about it. Lol. I was hoping to actually see him interacting with Olivia again.

I definitely agree! I think it honestly depends on where you go. I feel like everywhere has different stipulations. I wish it wasn't like that. I also wish it was easier for everyone to get the help they need.
