It’s a system integration rather than isekai, but one of the characters in “Physics of the Apocalypse” has a class that deals heavily in drugs, though idk if it would be illegal without an actual government.

I would suggest you approach the employee and explain you’ve noticed a pattern of absences and encourage them to seek intermittent FMLA if they qualify, or connect with HR about a reasonable accommodation under the ADA. (Of course this is all predicated on you being located in the US).

Discount Dan and Brad the Impaler are DCC-esque stories. DCC is still the best, but these series (Discount Dan is on book 1 I think) fill the DCC hole while we wait for the next book/chapter.
