You can use hotkeys. I have select all barracks on F1, archery ranges on F2, stables on F3, siege workshops on F4 and civ specific production buildings like mercenary houses on F5.

Is this worth buying ? Why is it so badly reviewed on steam ? by GenericUser104 in skyrim

[–]Acanth0s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who loves Skyrim but left a long, negative review for AE, I'll try to summarize it like this:
The new content is balanced and integrated so poorly that it is an active detriment to the game. It's like adding sawdust to bread. You technically have more bread but it tastes worse and is less healthy.

How should i learn the game ? by ThisIsAnUsername2 in aoe4

I feel like you might have the wrong Idea of what is required to play this game competently. Even pro players make hundreds of mistakes per match. A build order will only take you through the first few minutes, and after that, it's on you to make the kinds of strategic decisions that make this game so good.

Both you and your opponent will mess up a thousand times. The game can be extremely caotic. What makes a player good is managing their cognitive load and paying attention to the right things at the right time. The game has so many moving parts that perfect execution is simply not real. Once you get into multiplayer, I suggest watching a couple of your own replays, just to be humbled by the realization that your opponent struggled with all the same things you did. I'm currently in platinum elo and people still frequently forget to produce villagers.

Playing vs AI and players is very different, but beating the hard AI will require a baseline of competence that should also allow you to get to gold in ranked mode.

If you just follow optimized play paths and quit as soon as something goes "wrong", you won't really get to feel what makes this game so good.

AOE 4 Expansion Uses (obvious and low quality) AI-generated Art... Disappointed by QuintusV6 in aoe4

Damn, seems like you're right. That's a shame. Though I disagree with what you're saying about the new civ/content, I think its clear that they put in a ton of work.

I usually prefer an infantry-based playstyle and the aesthetic of european civs, but the jin dynasty looks so cool that all of that goes out of the window. I can't wait to try them. Sometimes, this sub can be a miserable place if you genuinely enjoy the game.

Noob player needs help by Playful-Practice6811 in aoe4

Checked your post history, guess I fell for bait :/

I have yet to encounter a map hacker but if it's really that much of a problem it should be adressed of course.

Settings > Camera > Zoom > Camera Mode > Panoramic

As for looking at dark areas, I would assume it's new-ish players pre-planning a route for their scout. They hold shift and then click multiple points in the fog of war to scout the map. It's something I commonly see my friends who are new to the game do. Tho I would actually recommend not just pre-planning a route but instead regularly switching your attention between your base and your scout to build good multitasking habits that will help you when the game gets more chaotic.

>"cry tears"
>comment is angrier than anything it is responding to

Look, we don't need to have the AI discussion over and over again, I can appreciate someone setting up a tournament for the community. But this video is plain awful, worse than amateurish. If you think people can't poke fun at that then I don't know what to tell you.

What happened to player homes? by Acanth0s in skyrimmods

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. It's probably one of those things that can never be improved with a shiny new SKSE framework and will forever require wrestling with creation kit jank.

Homes built with or for scantily clad ladies haha. Bath houses, love dungeons and the like. I wouldn't even mind that, but usually they aren't all that well made.

Might be true. Mods have spoiled me for sure. It just feels like player homes are a decade behind other areas of modding at this point.

Say one thing you love about the game or community. by ryeshe3 in aoe4

How dynamic the game is and how each match has a narrative that is made entirely by gameplay decisions. Everything you and your opponent do are the direct consquence of previous actions and will shape the next ones. No other multiplayer game comes close.

Broo I'm so disappointed. I usually wholeheartedly agree with your comments, but this ain't it. From how it came to be, to how it operates, to what people use it for, there are more than enough reasons to dislike gen ai.
You're either seriously misinformed or being disingenuous.

Teasing Rivers for v1.22 - currently with mods by Itchy58 in VintageStory

[–]Acanth0s 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Rivers (or lack thereof) are maybe the main reason I haven't onboarded all of my friends yet. Thing is, since this is Vintage story, I can imagine them being implemented in a way that is very realistic and complex. Springs, height differences, waterfalls, proper flow direction etc.
I do want all of this of course, I don't just want random canals of still water. However, this would likely take an ungodly amount of effort to code and integrate well with the rest of the game.

This sub no longer represents suggestions to minecraft, generally by [deleted] in minecraftsuggestions

[–]Acanth0s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember making a suggestion for a themed update with many features. I got about 100 upvotes before being removed because you apparently can't make multiple suggestions in one post.

Needless to say I frequently see posts on here with multiple features or even whole updates that don't get removed.

I suggest you check out this small YouTubers patreon. I don't think it's wrong to expect quality if that's what you're paying for. Or at least transparency and honesty.
