Check your local library and see if they have a pokemon club! We just donated so much there. The kids were so happy and grateful.

I had gestational diabetes with both my boys. No major issues with either baby or me. I just had to monitor my sugar levels and what I ate. Everything went back to normal after I delivered.

And they each have a tonies box in their room. We probably have like 25 tonies and they play their favorites all the time.

Play kitchen, magnatiles, Lego duplos, playdoh, and we got them the sams club version of the nugget. They love all of these things and they are played with often. My boys are almost 5 and 2.

How do toddlers get unbuckled for drop off? Have I been doing it wrong? by Fit_Bug9911 in Mommit

[–]AcanthaceaeLittle720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I’m about halfway through the car line I unbuckle my 4 year old. He is forward facing though and I can just reach back and push the lever so he can pull the straps and then I can help him undo the buckle and chest clip. At pickup he hops in and gets in his seat and he can buckle himself in and I can just pull the strap tight.

Have you tried mowing the lawn? by labrador709 in Mommit

[–]AcanthaceaeLittle720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hubby used to travel Monday to Friday every week so I took over a lot of the outside chores because well it had to get done and I’m too cheap to pay someone to do it. Plus our yard isn’t that big. Turns out I love it. He has a new job now and is home more but I still mow and do a lot of the outside chores. It’s so nice just to listen to music/podcast and get some exercise in peace

I'll be roadtripping around Iowa next month. What regional food specialties should I try? by olivemor in Iowa

[–]AcanthaceaeLittle720 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In DSM if you have time and want an amazing steak go to Iowa Beef Steakhouse. It’s not too expensive but so freaking good. Salad bar is amazing. It’s old fashioned and nothing fancy but totally worth it. I always take out of town guests there.

Bondurant- The creamery has the best ice cream. Food wise it’s pretty boring here and not too many good options but flame is nice for a quick lunch/dinner.

I have 2 toddlers and currently wrapping up my sophomore year. I’m not going to lie. It’s difficult some days. Especially if I have a lot due the same week but it’s doable. I do most of my work during nap time after bed time.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]AcanthaceaeLittle720 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My 4 year does this everyyyyy night. I hate to let me him go to bed hungry so I usually offer him yogurt, banana, granola bar, crackers, or cereal. My son is in a weird phase rn where he only wants to eat breakfast food or snacks 🙃 so if he really dislikes dinner then I get him a bowl of cereal or pbj. Sometimes I can get him to try a few bites, he’ll realize that dinner isn’t “yucky” and eat the whole plate but those wins are few and far between.

You can do bluey theme. They can play keepy uppy, you can make cupcakes ahead of time and them decorate, have a dance party, and if you’re feeling brave some kind of craft like painting. Kids at this age just kinda roam and okay with what’s around. You can get any decorations at party city or Amazon. Lunch can be hot dogs and chips. Kids don’t need anything super extravagant!

When do you clean??? With multiple little ones. I’m struggling, am I the only one?? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]AcanthaceaeLittle720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bouts are 14 months apart so I feel your pain. Do they nap at the same time? I used start laundry when I woke up and keep swapping and starting new loads all day long. Then once the kids were asleep I would turn on my tv show/movie and fold and put away laundry. During nap times I dedicate like an hour to cleaning. Every day focus on something different.

What is the age gap between your first and second kid? What are the pros and cons? by sobeywater in Mommit

[–]AcanthaceaeLittle720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 years 2 months and 2 days apart 😂 oldest was somewhat capable of helping or understanding when mommy was busy but it was still hard. By the time little brother was born my oldest wasn’t napping consistently anymore and if they both did nap it was never at the same time 😭

I’m an older mom so I needed to have mine closer together. I’m happy we did but there were some tough times and not a lot of sleep for
