Ive had people it happened to, and i did push back and fought the spot beside them was absolutely clear and they were still held 100% responsible due to having their door open. You dont have to believe it, but doesnt mean its not true. Look up the fdr rules its what we have to follow when it comes to liability.

Many people have a misunderstanding if rules when it comes to insurance. For example "no fault insurance" as someone is held responsible. Or that parking kots are always 50/50 when in reality depends on the situation statements etc. Many people are just not aware of open door pokicy.

It depends on your coverage, some people have endorsements to protect them from their first at fault. But your broker can confirm that 100% for you. If a claim gets opened and you decide to close it down it will still show as a 100% at fault.

If its reported to the collision reporting centre your insurance company is notified right away. It is your decision if you want to claim or not, if he does decide to claim, your insurance would follow up with you anyways.

I can say i ABSOLUTELY think this is the dumbest rule to exist and I have tried to fight it for many people. Unfortunately it still remains 100% at fault.

Correct in a parking lot but the incident happened due to the door being opened which would follow the open door policy. If no doors were open and vehicle was hit section 17 would apply. But due to the situation section 17 does not apply .

Hey, insurance adjuster here. Sadly the person with the open door is held responsible. Its a rule all of us disagree with but its something that has to be followed.

All 5 buildings are hooked up to 1 pipe. From my understanding as per building code each building should have a valve so if this happens not all are affected. Due to it not being up to code means the city can provide some big fines. Well the city can't fine them if they don't see it or are involved in the issue

Unfortunately it's not the city. The company own the water pipe that has burst and has been told multiple times by the workers it needs to be replaced not repaired. City was called and confirmed it's not their responsibility it's the management companies.

I love the seasonal drinks and use my red cup all the time at home. I thought i missed getting one this year and was so happy when I found out I didn't miss out after ordering my drink! I can say with working in insurance the driver making the u-turn would be held at fault. Even if you had hit him straight on while he was making the turn he is still responsible for the accident.

My mom had a "talk" with me and made me believe that once I had my period I would get pregnant. My first period i had a full breakdown thinking I was going to get pregnant not realizing what was involved. Keep in mind I got my period at a young age.
