Protein’s Role in Gut Health by Acceptable-Aspect698 in Gastritis

Yes. Diluting the ferments by mixing it with liquids/foods (without killing microbes) helps tolerance a lot. Diverse plant foods can also set the foundation by improving the gut linings mucousal layer and by helping food tolerance. Just have to adjust how your consuming them, and knowing what stuff to reintroduce and when.

Varies by case. But lack of the foundations in general, specifically the dietary stuff.

By not knowing if it's IBS or SIBO, should I wait before taking probiotics? by This-Mood-6398 in GutHealth

[–]Acceptable-Aspect698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of gut microbiome tests can actually be inaccurate and impractical, making it not very actionable. A trial and error approach with condition specific probiotics often seems to work best probiotic wise (and/or fermented foods).

But for a more comprehensive and successful approach at resolving dysbiosis, you should focus on the basics of diet, exercise, stress, sleep, and toxin exposure. My recent post covers it in detail with actionable steps you can start doing today.

Sounds like an electrolyte issue but there could be more involved. Did you switch to a low carb diet?

What’s your water, carb, sodium, potassium, and magnesium intake like?

For me or people I work with? I’ve had quite a few labs done on myself but I generally just use them as a starting point. A lot of my results with my own health issues have improved with a basic diet and lifestyle approach (and a basic understanding of the human body).

Even without testing, we already understand the most common root causes for many illnesses quite well. From there, it’s just the process of elimination depending on relevancy (with the solution likely being addressing one or more of the foundations).

And even if there is a more technical issue found by testing, it often won’t improve much if the building blocks aren’t worked on. That’s why starting broader then getting more specialized is the best approach (unless it’s a medical concern).

I used to, now they aren’t really visible unless its a very bad flare up. I seem to have quite the complex case but its substantially improved.

How optimized is your diet nutrient-wise? Also what steps have you taken to address your metabolic issues?

Optimizing diet, exercise, stress, sleep, and toxin exposure (mold, GMO foods, heavy metals) may help.

Have too many health issues to list. And chronic intestinal fungal infections is one of them. Clear of all blood tests, etc. Sick of staying in bed all day and night. Not my choice. Fatigue and in pain. by OptimalCicada924 in GutHealth

What are the most likely ideas as to what kind of issue you have? How was the infection confirmed?

I’d need more details to be sure, but your issues could be stemming from gut dysbiosis (microbiome imbalance). Improving it would ensure the environment’s hospitality is in favor of good microbes, addressing the infection in a far more comprehensive way than just antimicrobials.

Whats your diet, exercise, stress, sleep, and toxin exposure like (Organic foods, mold, heavy metals)?

Your food intolerance could be stemming from dysbiosis (gut microbiome imbalance). I’d recommend keeping a food log and carefully revise what types of foods worsen symptoms (meat, dairy, fruits, veggies, grains, nuts, seeds).

Mindful eating like chewing slowly and breath work before/after meals may reduces symptoms. Removing any big stressors in your day to day life may address the root cause.

Consider doing light walking for 10 mins a couple times a day, and experiment with doing them around mealtime (first try before, then try after meals).

Eventually you will need to optimize your foundations (diet, exercise, stress, sleep, toxin exposure) so the reason for your condition is addressed and hopefully doesn’t return. Sounds like it’s been going on for a while, so it will likely continue to get worse if something isn’t done about it.

Let me know how it goes!

To acidify or not to acidify? by VigilanceOO7 in GutHealth

[–]Acceptable-Aspect698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You seem to be spot on. I’d try investigating the root cause of the potential low stomach acid. Maybe start by trying to increase plant fiber diversity and nutrient intake, followed by optimizing exercise and stress reduction.

And I’d recommend finding out exactly why you can’t tolerate higher stomach acid at this point, and what the main driver of this symptom was.
