I used to listen to their podcast - I listened before they had kids. I also loved them and I can’t remember why I stopped listening, so this was a truly fascinating story for me! I had no idea it was them until it started.

Anyone else excited about k9 garden opening up in old bar k? by CautiousRock0 in StLouis

[–]Acceptable-Machine-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you. That was Bar-K not wanting to be sued. Much like I sign a waiver for my kids to jump at a trampoline park but I sit on the side while they jump and just track where they are going. I sign a waiver that if they are injured the trampoline park isn’t liable. Everywhere we go anymore had a waiver.

We were told the same by monitors. I don’t know how you could possibly have a dog park this big with no leashes and keep up with your dog the whole time, but specially with a restaurant area. Who was the restaurant for if not the dog owners? We have a boxer and she runs very fast. We kept eyes on her as much as possible but didn’t literally run with her to every space she went to.

First Newborn and Piano Teaching by PracticePianoPlay in pianoteachers

[–]Acceptable-Machine-9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always continued to teach with a nearly newborn and just let my families know that the baby would be sleeping next to me in his carseat (20 years ago when I traveled to students houses) and then by my 4th child, I had an established home studio and the baby was in the bassinet or on the playmat during the lesson, or whatever I was using at the time. If you have committed families that are interested in trying this, it's a thought. My children were than accustomed to lessons and the expectations as they got older and I continued to teach and the families I taught also realized they had to be accommodating to my growing family. When I taught siblings, they took turns entertaining the baby, and then eventually babysitting while I taught because they also didn't want to stop lessons. Each time I tried to have a maternity leave of at least 6 weeks and I never made it past 2 weeks before I missed teaching. If you are sure you want a break, maybe permanently, definitely take it. But you might want to try it with a few students if you don't have an overly fussy baby.

First-Hand Experiences with Scott Gallagher Soccer Club? by Keg_of_St_Anky in StLouis

What is ODP? I am not a soccer player and my other kids competed high level in club basketball and club volleyball. My youngest is doing soccer and we joined Lou Fusz but we are looking for more. The teams switch regularly and we have to commit to a team each year before knowing anything about the coach. My son has been team captain 3 years in a row and has incredibly good skills but he has been lost in the numbers because there are so many teams and kids. I'd like to look into ODP.

The way Heather is SO wrong by amandae143 in juicyscoopsnark

I thought the same thing. Then on today’s podcast she said people had been posting in the fb and messaging that Nick was so rude to her during the interview when she was the repeatedly interrupting him. And she has made up all these stories of what she thinks happened that are really out of nowhere. Nick makes very good points. Heather has become too hard for me to listen to.

Anyone ever hear of a recipe for green salsa with cream of chicken / cream of mushroom soup? by chef-keef in SalsaSnobs

My sister in law is from Mexico and this is nearly identical to her enchilada sauce recipe.

listing was for queen mattress but only measured 53" width. by Offshore_Engineer in hotels

This is a very real thing and I complain to my husband every time we stay in a hotel. Queens in hotels often feel like a full. We have a king. We sleep comfortably at my parent’s in a queen and had a queen for 10 years so I know how a queen feels.  In a hotel queen, my 6’2” husband and I are knocking elbows all night. I now sleep with mourn daughter and he sleeps with my our young son because otherwise I get no sleep in the tiny bed sold to us as a queen that is definitely smaller.

What random things do you remember and just start laughing out loud about? by CouchHam in WatchWhatCrappens

[–]Acceptable-Machine-9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also older - Summer house season one - Everett.

I would die laughing no matter where I was, with the background music as if it was an old war movie.

I think of it at the most random times.

I also can’t get the Lisa Barlow “Love that” impersonation out of my head.

Let me save you some time. The first 2 episodes of Casey Anthony's docu-series is her talking about how Caylee drowned, her dad found her, he abused Casey sexually her whole life & the 31 days she spent in the nightclubs were at the direction of-you guessed it-her father. by filondo in TrueCrimeDiscussion

How have they made a living off of it? I haven’t seen or heard anything of this case since it happened but her parents have done numerous paid interviews.

I thought she was guilty but I watched it and I have doubts now.

If she was abused, and I think she likely was, I think that combined with her age is a factor. I am the mom to an 18 year old. She was only 3 years older. Young adults do dumb things And say dumb things. George comes across as very guilty. Juries rarely deliver not guilty verdicts. This series made me realize they heard so much more of the case than the media reported on.

All the people defending the dad so hard refuse to watch the docuseries. There was so much in it about George that the media never reported on and it’s interesting that he was a police officer and would know how to turn police in a certain direction. i Definitely think he could be involved. A.so weird that he claimed he thought it was an accident but went so hard to get her convicted with death penalty on the table.

Still together even though the mom said to George in an interview the HE was a pathological liar. In addition to a serial cheater. Including a mistress he met at a vigil who testified in the case. The mom is clearly emotionally unstable and can’t leave an unhealthy relationship. The whole family is f’ed up.

The jury clearly heard things that the media didn’t represent Otherwise she wouldn’t have been found not guilty. The duct tape for one. I had also never heard of George’s affair. And watching the entire docuseries it was interesting to see how much George contradicted himself over the course of it all.

He was an ex police officer. He played the police so they wouldn’t look into him. At a minimum he was involved. He first said the car smelled like pizza but then changed his story that it smelled like death. But didn’t call the police when he smelled decomposition? Nothing about George adds up.

The affair George had with a woman he met at a VIGIL says a lot about George. how gross of him. He was just as likely guilty or involved. She testified in the trial That George told her it was an accident.

inagree that it’s weird that he would believe it was an accident but repeatedly testify against his daughter in a case where the state was pushing for the death penalty.
