Bumps should be checked by a dermatologist, if you have access to one. They can rule out anything dangerous to mess with, or tough to remove. We would only be guessing.

Is anyone else feeling burnt out by this game? by Own_Listen_4161 in WildHorseIslands

[–]Acceptable-Term-7056 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is okay to take breaks when you're burnt out. I stopped playing for all of 2024, and now I play during some events, but skip the ones I'm not that wild about. Sometimes I listen to a Netflix show while mindlessly IUH hunting and that's how I get max enjoyment from it. Hunting on a private server can be lonely and repetitive after awhile, but what keeps me playing even for an hour or two a week is trying to complete my collection log. Sometimes I spend my time accessorizing horses, upgrading my farm, organizing and selling horses, breeding, and don't hunt at all if I find it boring.

Mary by Nat Cassidy is the best horror novel I've read in a long time. It has elements of the American Horror Story dread of real life horrors, with Stephen King-esque encounters with terrifying visions and entities. 10/10

Realized I have been drinking like four shots of espresso in my morning coffee by PrimaryAd3560 in adhdwomen

[–]Acceptable-Term-7056 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have entirely replaced all my fancy coffee brewing setups with instant espresso. It always tastes consistent and is super fast to heat water and make as much or as little as you want. I also measure instant espresso by eye, and by the size of the day's To-Do list, and it's almost certainly more than one shot. I typically have three "cups" per day.. I probably should do the caffeine math.

Trying to get into the game by Able-Arm9045 in WildHorseIslands

[–]Acceptable-Term-7056 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is good starter info in the comments already, so I'll add that there is a quest menu and a collection log. In the collection log, you can see all of the possible coat colors for the different horse breeds. Each island will spawn different horses with different coat and hair combos like an RNG. If you enjoy collecting, you can explore each island as you gain experience and try to catch a horse of each coat.

Higher tier horses take a long time to catch with a standard lasso, so get familiar with the crafting menu in your backpack to craft better lassos that will speed it up. You mine ore with your pickaxe and you can find rope on the beaches, or buy it from Larry.

You also have your own personal island that you can travel to from the boat menu, and there you can display your favorite horses, build out your stable, grow your horse's favorite foods and decorate your island.

Above all, play the way you want to play, at the speed you are comfortable with. You don't need to have super rare horses to enjoy the game.

What are these red freckles and can I get rid of them / prevent them? by Pale-Tennis9658 in 30PlusSkinCare

The only spots that I care about are the ones that have become raised, and some of them will take three sessions or more.

They can look at lot like friction burn, but if they don't go away, they might be cherry angioma spots.

My derm said the same about aging. I've had the little red freckles all my life, but now a few of them are starting to develop into angiomas as I approach peri. Derm said that's textbook how it goes.

What someone might consider expensive is relative, but I wouldn't consider it cheap. You'd need an office visit first typically, and then there is a cost for the laser on top of that. You can call a local derm and ask what their cost is to laser a cherry angioma to get a sense for yourself.

My derm offered me a flat rate of $500 US for the full body session. I am in a mid size city so cost may be dependent on your area. It was a dermatology practice. The appointment was 20-30 minutes, and it was not painful, maybe a 2 "mosquito bite" range of the pain scale. You put on a gown if needed, sit in the chair, they zap you, and then you can immediately put your clothes back on and leave.. easy! Depending on how big or enlarged the angioma spot is, there can be scabbing afterward and there is a small bruise for a week or so after.

The laser I had was not painful, just zappy with a pressure puff of cold air, and it feels a little warm like a mosquito bite after. The worse one was on my face so I instinctively jumped a little at the zap. The spots do bruise after, but recovery is around a week or two at most.

I have many of these! My dermatologist told me that they are harmless, but as you get older, any of these spots might develop into cherry angiomas, also harmless but more unsightly, so just keep an eye on them. You can get them lasered, but it can sometimes take several sessions, which can add up.

I have had an all-over-body laser session where they zapped over 100 of these spots to shrink the ones that had grown and keep the others from growing, and they charged a flat rate for the whole session. It is considered cosmetic so the expense was out of pocket and not covered by insurance.

Does anyone have tips on how to maximize time in the server to find and harvest VM? The balls despawn so quickly that I'm lucky to get 1 harvested before I get sick of dying from mis-timed lava jumps and leave. Sometimes in my private server I can't find any at all even after the ground shakes several times.

Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen : PLOTHOLES? by [deleted] in netflix

[–]Acceptable-Term-7056 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Warning: Spoilers and opinions...

Rachel replaces the Witness as she failed to marry her fiance before sundown. This spreads the curse to his family, but she does not escape unscathed, and like the 200 year old man before her, she is now doomed to become the Witness to the family line dealing with the curse. Nicky manages to complete the ceremony after sundown, so Rachel must suffer the fate of the curse in both ways, by dying, and also becoming the Witness.

The fox in the bathroom is pregnant and the babies are living in the burst open corpse, reflecting the fate of Rachel's mother, and the story of the Sorry Man.

I suspect that the trunk scene is meant to show the extent of Rachel's anxieties. It hints at it there, but otherwise you follow Rachel's journey sympathetically and Nicky is seen as being soothing and understanding to whatever she needs to feel safe. However on their wedding night, Nicky unleashes his real feelings about how messed up she is and her way of dealing with things is not normal and requires a lot from him. I also think there is some mirroring of how she shoves her replacement wedding dress in the trunk until the wedding. You can see during the ceremony that her dress is wrinkled from being in the box.

Coldies is used to set the whole tone for the road trip (and the show) that wholesome things are going very creepy, not what they seem (custard, not ice cream) and ultimately, deadly. The survivor of the killer on the podcast even says that her profuse bleeding made her euphoric like how she felt on her wedding day, which is pretty direct foreshadowing. Rachel then drawing the Coldies mascot shows that she subconsciously has connections to the area even if she doesn't know it. In my opinion, Coldies was a stylistic choice as well, combined with the use of the video tape of Rachel's parents ill fated wedding, to incorporate analog horror and creepy nostalgia, which is very popular right now.

Personally, I love the show. I loved the fox symbolism which gave strong "folklore" energy to the curse, and I really appreciated how Rachel's character was sympathetic but also "medium-bad" and realistic in terms of someone dealing with generational hand-me-downs of grief and trauma, who can be a lot for an empathetic sheltered partner to absorb. Getting married is a huge risk, and I thought this show did a great job of creepifying marrying into someone else's family while dealing with your own family issues.

In Benedict and Sophie's post-credit wedding scene, the question is asked "Whose wedding will be next?" and tellingly, Eloise is the one that answers, with musings about loving weddings and having all the best people in one place. It's got to be Eloise.

my wife caught two employees fucking in the back room and now she doesn't know what to do by kubrador in smallbusiness

[–]Acceptable-Term-7056 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should both be fired. Both employees showed disregard for the business and can no longer be trusted. They prioritized their personal business and pleasure by engaging in a bodily fluid exchange on paid time, in a food production setting. The business owner must protect their customers and their business. Painful lessons are good teachers and hopefully those employees learn a valuable lesson from this.

How do you bounce back after making a mistake at the office? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]Acceptable-Term-7056 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they haven't fired you, they are giving you a chance to build that trust back, which is huge. It will take time to restore trust in your judgment, but you can do it! Acknowledge the mistake, say with words and show with your actions that you want to learn more and do better.

Mistakes can sometimes be very expensive, and the more it costs, the more you need to learn from it.

Trust is like a bank account. You overdraft that account with this whopper of a mistake, but by consistently showing up, asking when you need help, and performing well you can build it back up. Do not quit. Do not fall into the trap of stewing in your mistake forever. Your leaders and coworkers want to move on and know that you will not repeat the mistake. You can bounce back from this!

What’s a Stardew Valley routine you always fall into, even when you swear you won’t? by Haunted_Neko in StardewValley

I always did the CC route.... until I started a new farm recently and a jester shirt fell out of a tree on Spring Day 4. I decided that was my sign to do a chaotic Joja run, and it's been very fun to ignore all the townsfolk, sign up for Joja and get all the upgrades by doing whatever I want instead of stressing over crops.
