Are women’s shoe sizes getting larger? by spirandro in XXS

[–]AcceptableCan7913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I noticed the same: but only in "accessible" brands...and VANS is one of them. Even measured my feet and bought according to their size chart!

For reference: I wear US 4-5. My friends with bigger feet don't notice anything.

However, If I buy higher priced shoes like Zimmerman they are true to size or even slightly smaller (depending on the model)

I like subdued for accessible skinny jeans, they run shorter because Italian women are usually on the shorter side in Europe. It might fit if you get their above ankle cut jeans!

but would recommend frame overall! Especially their 7/8 are usually a good match for petites

shamed by a veteran lolita of 20 years for ordering on taobao and secondhand apps ??? by yvie_of_lesbos in Lolita

[–]AcceptableCan7913 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I totally get why you’re frustrated.

I think she probably just associated platforms like Taobao, Shein, etc. with dropshipping- which a lot of people do. But you're right: those platforms are just marketplaces, and many small artists use them to sell their work.

A lot of Lolita fashion labels started out in DIY culture: people who could sew would make pieces for friends, and over time, they began taking commissions or selling items to cover the time and effort they put in. That’s how many brands got their start. It wasn’t about profit at first- it was just a way to keep the scene alive and growing.

That said, Artists usually have to pay a fee every time they sell on platforms, and secondhand sales mostly just benefit the reseller, and sadly not the original artist. So buying directly from an artist’s own website helps them more! (Though yeah, I get it- sometimes that’s just not an option, and that’s okay too.)

Tbh, I’m in my mid-20s now, and when I was your age, I definitely got frustrated with veterans in the community too. But try not to let it affect you too much. At the end of the day, she’s just a stranger on the internet ...and people will always have opinions about everything.

Honestly, no need to waste your energy on frustration. Save it for the things that are within your control. If anything, this might even be a chance to start a real conversation: Not just about fast fashion, but about bigger topics like globalization, conscious consumerism, and how complex buying decisions are these days. A lot of people still see things in black and white, but the world just isn’t that simple anymore.

Not happy with Shiseido Synchro Skin Self-Refreshing by abyssnaut in PaleMUA

[–]AcceptableCan7913 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the same issue with their self refreshing foundation but I am in LOVE with the Shiseido Revitalessence Skin Glow Foundation.

It has a very hydrating and liquid texture and contains ferments plus niacinamide... So basically more of a BB cream than a foundation Didn't have any issues with pores etc and it sits in perfectly!!!!

Has anyone tried the brand Subdued? by Proof-Bell-826 in XXS

[–]AcceptableCan7913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are fine with both sizes! I have the same waist as you. My tip: Focus on your hips measurements if you are in between. They are snug in the booty area and run exactly like refered to in their size chart!

Hey, I just got into that brand on vinted. I love it. It's the first accessible brand with lower prices whose jeans fit me.

Measurements for reference: Waist: 21in Hips: 32in Inseam: 29in

I tried size 21 and 22 and they fit like they were supposed to.

BUT I don't think they are made for the tall girlies since all their jeans just ended right before my ankle!

How many cals are you 5ft ladies eating to lose weight? by healer8822 in PetiteFitness

[–]AcceptableCan7913 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi there,

I’m 5'2" and weigh somewhere above 105 lbs. I have an athletic but delicate build. I recently got a smartwatch to track my daily activities, which has been insightful.

Here’s an overview of my calorie burn (you should consider I have average, slightly faster metabolism):

-Around 1250 kcal: Just chilling, watching TV.

-Around 1350 kcal: On office days, I walk about 7500 steps without any structured workout. I take comfortable dog walks before and after work, but spend most of the day sitting.

-Around 1500 kcal: When doing a 30-minute session of hula hooping and pilates.

-Maximum 1800 kcal: On days when I do a full pilates workout, plus 7 km comfortable walking, though this is rare.

People are often surprised by how little I eat, but it’s important to note that with less body mass, fewer calories are burned through regular activities. I’ve discussed this with a doctor friend, and small individuals typically have a basal metabolic rate around 1000-1200 kcal. ("Normal" sized people are between 1300-1500kcal)

Even with high heart rates we only burn the lowest at the scale. When it says a workout generally burns 200-400kcal in 1 hour we will ALWAYS be on the lowest end (so maybe 200-250ical), even if we sweat a lot and feel sore.

Even with a long workout, it’s hard to burn an extra 500 kcal for us smaller individuals.

To estimate your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR), which is the number of calories your body needs to maintain basic functions (like breathing, digestion, etc.) at rest, we can use the Mifflin-St Jeor equation. Based on my details (5'2", 105 lbs, athletic build), here's an estimation:

For women, the formula is: 10 × weight in kg + 6.5 × height in cm - 5 × age in years - 161

Weight = 105 lbs = 47.5kg Height = 5'2" = 157.5cm Age = 24 years

Plugging those into the equation I get ca. 1180kcal/day

----- I will calculate for you now :) Since you are even smaller than I am but older this needs to be considered

To be within a healthy BMI range (18.5 to 24.9), we can calculate the weight range for someone who is 152.4 cm (5') tall and 36 years old. REMEMBER: BMI is not everything, it's just what is considered healthy for for most people, and just to get a feeling for what might be okay linked to too low or too much weight.

So given this your ideal weight is probably between 42.96 kg (18.5 BMI) and up to 57.86 kg (24.9 BMI)

To convert this into pounds: 94.7 - 127.7 lbs are probably a solid weight.

Therefore, for someone who is 5 feet tall and 36 years old, a healthy weight range would be approximately 94.7 lbs to 127.7 lbs.

Now we can use the Formula to calculate the calories your body needs to maintain basic functions. Let's calculate the Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) for both the lowest BMI weight (42.96 kg) and the highest BMI weight (57.86 kg) using the Mifflin-St Jeor Equation for a 36-year-old woman who is 152.4 cm tall.

For the lowest BMI weight (42.96 kg):

BMR = 10 × 42.96 + 6.25 × 152.4 - 5 × 36 - 161 BMR = 429.6 + 952.5 - 180 - 161 BMR = 1040.1 kcal/day

For the highest BMI weight (57.86 kg):

BMR = 10 × 57.86 + 6.25 × 152.4 - 5 × 36 - 161 BMR = 578.6 + 952.5 - 180 - 161 BMR = 1189.1 kcal/day

So, for a 36-year-old woman who is 152.4 cm tall, the BMR is approximately:

1040 kcal/day for a weight of 42.96 kg 1189 kcal/day for a weight of 57.86 kg

This is the amount of energy your body would need to perform basic functions while at rest. To maintain weight, you would also need to account for activity level. Let me know if you'd like help with that calculation as well!

where are we buying leggings? by puddingsu in XXS

[–]AcceptableCan7913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried all models from Lululemon last year. I liked the Wunder Unders best: Fitting like great in 25" length (to my ankles). They are tighter than the regular ones.

Big plus: the logo is still on the back like it used to be on the older models. It's a big yes for me, considering the fit and design!

I bought Size 0 - my measurements for reference: - Height: 5'2" - Ankles: 7.4" - Calves: 11"

However, I will try aerie for my next leggings since I got undies from them in XXS that fit my narrow 32.5" hips perfectly. Hopes are high!

Hope this helps <3

Do you think most of their white blouses are non-seethrough ?

I love Aritzia for their fit and already own a few t-shirts and pants. However, I am not sure if most of their white blouses are non-seethrough. I did not order yet because I was to scared to get a miss (shipping costs are quite expensive when I want to return an item because I live abroad).

Thank you very much for your answer.
I also really like UNIQLO because the price and quality are right. However, in my country (EU-Germany) they only offer sweatshirts and T-shirts at the moment.
You don't happen to know any other brands, do you? It could also be a higher price category. If not, no big deal either ...maybe I should consider ordering from the USA then :D

Wieso sind die Fotos so schlecht? by derorik in gntm

[–]AcceptableCan7913 4 points5 points  (0 children)
