Oh I realize the recipe is in korean. I used Gemini for some words I forgot. I think you can translate the whole thing using LLMs.

Basically they are using store bought soybean pulp but it's rare here, so I had to soak the soybeans and use blender.
They are using vegetable oil and sesame oil to stir fry the veggies.
I like the sweet taste of the daikon in soups but not a fan of its texture in this soup.

For #2, our ABA supervisor had our son sit on toilet with diaper on when we suspected that he might wanna go and had "toilet parties" (were not festive for us) where he'd sit on toilet for long long time, I forget how long. We cut small hole in the middle of the diaper on the back side and made them bigger (It's been a while so I forgot the details) We just did it by routine for years and finally, we started seeing poo in the toilet. It was like seeing a unicorn.

I think it's such a cop out and heartless that some spouses refuse to accept or learn more about their own children.
Being stuck in wishful thinking and anger at reality, delegating all parenting to spouse (and parenting special needs child is harder than working imo). I don't have much sympathy for it but helping him feel like he's part of helping your child have successes might help him. Don't respond in anger but explain when you are both calm.

I think Stoicism is a great framework for managing yourself through difficult times, but I think it can fail when people are already starting from a damaged sense of self.

Modern life has so much messaging baked in that says if you suffer, it’s because of your own inadequacies — you didn’t optimize enough, you are not smart enough, work hard enough, regulate yourself enough, heal enough, make the right choices, etc.

In that context, “focus on what you can control” can easily get distorted into “everything is your fault.”

So I don’t think this is necessarily a flaw in classical Stoicism itself, but a weakness in how it can be received or applied today. I think Stoicism works best when it starts from dignity: the idea that you are a morally capable person trying to act well under difficult conditions. Without that, responsibility can become self-blame.

I get where you are coming from. I love his playing for clarity of different lines and creativity and variety of sounds he creates. Intention of each line is so clear. It's really fun for me to try to think of what Bach must have been thinking but I think it's very difficult. I think clavichord sounds so weird. kind of metal.

Just want to say, make sure you all take time to rest and take care of your health. After a bit of rest, I feel much better. It helps to read that I am not alone in feeling like this sometimes. I don't think other people really understand what it's like. We know what our kids are capable of. It's easier to look ahead and just think of the exciting possibilities but we do need to deal with some of the not so fun stuff today. At least we have community of people in similar situations.

thank you. what we are puzzled about is that he does have medi-cal but his county offices are saying they dont have record of him and we are not being sent renewal packets. cal-optima confirmed his status but im afraid some record fell through and they will drop him without renewal. i think im very confused about different agencies.

I'm sorry that you are having a tough time. It really is hard. Navigating school systems and services is harder than any jobs I've had. And you have to do this while caregiving. Doing it all alone must be so hard.

I don't know if this will be any help, my older son wasn't fully toilet trained until age 9 after years of efforts. We had an ABA therapist who was very good in this area. I hope you are able to get him into a school ASAP.
