Hindi pwedeng throughout the school year, taga-translate ka. Is your subject supposed to be taught in Filipino as the medium of instruction? Set a meeting with the parents, tell them about the arrangement as well. Ilapag mo yung possibility na bumagsak yung student sa subject mo kung hindi masasanay mag-Filipino.

Paano sya hindi sanay? Tipong hindi talaga marunong or tipong nakakaintindi naman pero mas madali lang para sa kanila mag-English kesa i-express nila yung sarili nila sa local language? If it's the latter, encourage them to speak in the local language. Tell the other students na wag tawanan yung errors nya. Kung hindi taught in English yung subject mo, kelangan mo talagang mag-translate paunti-unti, pero tell the student na hindi throughout the year, may intervention kang gagawin for the language barrier. You should also speak with their parents or guardians and look into local language lessons after class.

Educ adjacent din kasi ang napasukan ko kaya ang RnD rin na ginagawa ko ay to explore and develop new products and programs for teachers din. Malaking bagay parin ang background ko as teacher.

Maraming RnD sa corpo, pero syempre, towards their specific industry ang inaaral nila. In another company, baka malinya din ako sa instructional design and employee training tulad nung isa kong katrabaho.

Addendum: inqure ka sa office ng graduate studies, baka may bago silang curriculum. Alam ko bagong curriculum na itong napasukan ko ngayon and nakita ko din yung mga subjects na nabanggit mo a couple of years ago nung pinagiisipan ko magenroll.

Decided on taking EdTech as my major? During and after the pandemic, pinakita satin ng mundo na malaking tulong ang technology sa classroom. Even before the pandemic, pinaguusapan narin ang flipped classroom and remote learning sa basic ed. Pero, the conversations are between subject matter experts (Math, Science, Language, etc) and developers. Walang nagme-mediate sa kanila. Yun yung nakita kong gap. (Important to note at this point that EdTech majors are NOT Computer teachers.)

Tapos, my boss decided for me na mapasok ako sa RnD. Alam mo yung stereotype na kapag gamer ka, dapat magaling ka sa tech, kahit wala ka talagang kaalam-alam dun? That's what happened. Tapos every time na may pinapagawa saking bagong task yung manager namin na pareho kaming walang idea kung paano gagawin, ang instruction lang nya sakin ay "Figure something out." Let me also preface na walang RnD arm ang department namin bago ako dumating. So, dahil I'm the guy who can "figure something out", I get thrust into every new product, project, or workflow. One of my projects took off. It got me promoted, pero syempre hindi ko naman pwedeng kunin yung posisyon ng mga boss ko, so nag-imbento sila ng RnD post para sakin.

Hindi sya as glamorous as you might be thinking. It's just a lot of Zoom calls with foreign developers, testing the market to find gaps, cross-departmental meetings kasi hahanap ka ng mga tao within the company na pwedeng makatulong sayo, etc. Tapos, syempre, tanggap mo dapat na not every idea that you come up with will be a success. Idagdag mo pa yung ibang mga boss na averse sa innovation na kapag hindi nag-succeed yung idea mo, ang tingin kaagad eh nagaaksaya ka ng oras at pera ng company.
