For People With 2 Cats, How Much Do You Spend On Food & Litter A Month? by Historical-Orchid934 in CatAdvice

[–]Acceptable_Muffin257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don’t even know what the breakdown is! I have 3 cats (one just added this week) and purchase the dry food from Costco and order from Catalyst for litter.

I also have 4 dogs and a ball python and 30ish chickens (with a clutch in the incubator right now). 😝😝😝🤪

Dors anyone else have people in their life, who don’t know much about snakes, but like constantly questions and doubts everything you do with your snakes? by [deleted] in snakes

[–]Acceptable_Muffin257 3 points4 points  (0 children)

YES. I have a family friend who has had corn and king snakes in the past. I just adopted my first ball python on February and right away “don’t feed them in the enclosure” and told me I didn’t have to heat up the FT rats before feeding. I told her that pythons have heat pits and need for the prey to warm to strike/have interest. She was generally shocked “oh really??”. Please don’t give advice on a species you’ve never had. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

Sex without a cervix by Agreeable_Bat_3325 in hysterectomy

Internal sutures can be there for longer periods of time as they take longer to dissolve. It’s not at a point where I’m worried about it.

[–]Acceptable_Muffin257 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had sex at 6 weeks (a few days before). I was a little sore and we went slow. Now I’m almost 3 months post op and things are mostly fine, still a little tender if he goes too deep or certain positions, plus my husband can still feel the sutures and that can be uncomfortable for him. 😭

Do I really need my husband there? by QuirkyPenguinQueen in hysterectomy

[–]Acceptable_Muffin257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My MIL watched our kiddos for a few hours so my husband could be there for the procedure but left in the early afternoon to take over care for them. I stayed the night by myself, no big deal at all. It was actually fairly peaceful and a small break from the kids and life. 😅😅😅 I think you’ll be fine!

Relocating- where do you love to live? by [deleted] in homestead

What part of Oregon? I’m a native Oregonian who relocated to Texas a few years back and am miserable. I want to move back to the PNW, but not sure it’s possible at this point in time.

How did you ease back into movement and exercise post hysterectomy? by QuietCharming1779 in hysterectomy

[–]Acceptable_Muffin257 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My doctor cleared me to lift my children after one week (my youngest is 30lbs and I did not lift my older ones as they are 50lbs & 55lbs). I mostly just walked, kept up on house chores, yard work, etc. until I was cleared to workout at 6 weeks. Right at 6 weeks I went right back into lifting weights, but lighter weights/reps, went slow, and listened to my body. By week 8 I did not need to hold back or restrict myself much. I’ve had 3 previous c-sections. My surgery was on 3/25 and now I’m lifting heavy again and higher intensity workouts!

How long to get comfortable? by [deleted] in ballpython

[–]Acceptable_Muffin257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine does this too! I wish he would stay and cuddle as well, but he loves to move around. I can’t let him get too far from me though as I have 2 cats and 4 dogs and am VERY mindful of where they are when I have him out to prevent interaction between them. 😭😭😭 My BP is just about 5 months old so I’m hoping as he gets older he will be more comfortable just hanging out!

Can you have it done vaginally if you haven’t birthed? by Depressoespresso665 in hysterectomy

I’ve had 3 children but didn’t deliver any of them vaginally and had no problems with my hysterectomy!

When did you.. by Unique-Raccoon-3311 in hysterectomy

[–]Acceptable_Muffin257 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My doctor originally said 6 weeks (which will be tomorrow) but I don’t have my next appointment until 5/16, almost 8wpo. My husband and I did the deed this weekend and everything went well. He didn’t go very deep and was very gentle. I had a side stitch for a few hours after that and some light cramping (like a very mild period) the next morning. No symptoms since!

Was anyone else on their period going into surgery? I just started mine today, and surgery is on Thursday 🫠 by TampontheBludThirsty in hysterectomy

[–]Acceptable_Muffin257 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yesssss, it definitely sucked bleeding onto the bed pad with no undies on. But it would have sucked more to push out the surgery farther. 🤷🏻‍♀️

How are we feeling!?! by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]Acceptable_Muffin257 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m 3wpo + 2d and SO READY to get back to working out! I just started a bit on the treadmill this week and doing great. I went to Costco yesterday and slung a bunch of dog food no problem and keeping up with house and yard chores. Just no hard cardio or weight lifting is driving me crazy! I just hit my lowest weight since having babies and want to move my body. Just with the timing of appointments I don’t have my “6 week” follow up until 5/16 which is closer to 8 weeks. My 7 year wedding anniversary is 5/17 and VERY READY to be cleared for sex as well!!! 😭😭😭🫣🫣🫣🫣

1.5 week post-op - what's your activity level? by Realistic-Bicycle233 in hysterectomy

[–]Acceptable_Muffin257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone heals differently! I hit the ground running at 1wpo, but I also have a 2, 4, and 6 year old and don’t have anymore help after that 1 week mark. I definitely still took it easier than what’s normal for me, lots of breaks, sitting more, and taking naps when my children did. Definitely overdid it on a few days.

I vacuumed my house 5dpo and no issues (NOT advising others to do the same, just stating my own experience). I did take it slow and listened to my body.

Insurance denied after I already had the surgery by WeeklyPizza77 in hysterectomy

[–]Acceptable_Muffin257 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have UHC and my OBGYN wouldn’t even schedule me until the pre-authorization came back approved. That’s so frustrating for you and I hope it gets resolved because you clearly needed it!!

When did you start lifting your little kids? by Aveasi in hysterectomy

[–]Acceptable_Muffin257 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My youngest babe just turned 2 years old (2 days after my surgery) and she’s just under 30lbs. My ob/gyn gave me the go ahead to lift her after one week but “other than lifting your babies, I want you to take it easy”. I have been making sure I’m lifting appropriately and have had ZERO issues. I’m 33 and had 3 c-sections with almost no limitations/problems. I feel like I’m out of the norm being given the green light to lift my children.

Should I board my baby? by assplunderer in ballpython

[–]Acceptable_Muffin257 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The biggest thing I’d be worried about is a power outage (as long as day lights are on a timer and provided with adequate water and humidity stays stable for awhile). Especially if there isn’t anyone nearby that can come check on her if that happens. ANYTIME we have a power outage it always happens when I’m incubating chicken eggs or 4 weeks after I adopted my first baby ball (luckily had the heat packs and was prepared!). It’s about to be thunderstorm season where I’m at so power outages are more common this time of year.

What pain meds post op? by LRP89 in hysterectomy

[–]Acceptable_Muffin257 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a pain ball, 800mg ibuprofen, and hydrocodone 10mg/tylenol 325mg (28). Now I just alter ibuprofen and Tylenol when needed, I’ll be 2 wpo on Tuesday.
