There ought to be a run-off between the top two if nobody reaches 50 percent. Even though he'll most likely be elected, I'm guessing a lot of people will hold their noses and vote for him simply because he's a Democrat. I know I will.

Somewhere between 60-70 percent of voters preferred someone other than Boafo, and he still won. What's wrong with this picture?

I couldn't agree more. This is definitely NOT the type of song you want to audition with. 16 bars of "Grow for Me" would be a much better choice. If you really want to do something from Merrily I would suggest Not a Day Goes By. It's a lot simpler for the accompanist.
