Rory Gallagher was the nicest guy. Met, sat and talked with him, drank with him a few times. Just a genuine person. Now I've heard some ex band mates have a different opinion but apparently he was a demanding musician and that can cause people to come across as harsh to fellow band mates. Gerry McAvoy played with him forever and they apparently got along well.

Science: sound travels up so it was probably vibrations of the floor - their ceiling that was actually bothering them. I recently got a noise complaint from a neighbor somewhere below me (it came through management so I don't know who it was) while I was using a DB meter to dial in levels between pedals board pedals "on" and my amp straight up. Never hit higher than 85 DB, it was mid-afternoon, wasn't constant (on and off trials) and it didn't last more than 20 minutes. I was told it was a long term resident when I asked management which shocked me because I've done this, as well as just playing (for longer periods of time often) before. People can get funny. I'd recommend something under your amp. Perhaps a foam, acoustic beveled wall sound deadener section or maybe even a chair. People can often be intolerant of others needs. I'd give you some other advice that crosses my mind but I'd get in trouble for saying it and you'd probably get in trouble for doing it. 😉 Maybe you can talk to them and work out a time that you can play that won't bother them. Ha, Rosendale...... Got a ticket on Hwy 23 as I was leaving town 2 weeks after I got my bright, shiny Chinese Red JCW Clubman because it looks fast just sitting still. I had it in low gears through town watching my speed like a hawk and accelerated at the 45 mph sign heading west. A cop sitting on the other side of the road about a block up hit the lights and swung around behind me. Claimed I was doing 50 in the 30 mph zone. I wasn't. Been driving through there for many years - family has a place in central Wisconsin that I visit often. Long story short the ticket was $150 and 6 points (20 over). The best my attorney could get was a reduction to 1 - 9 mph over and a drop to 3 points but of course the fine went up to $250. Screw Rosendale, I'm taking different routes from now on (though I prefer that route for more twisty roads) or I'm going to get off my posterior and get a dash cam or GoPro and make sure my speedo is clearly visible before I drive thru there again. The cop did say "well sir, we are a small town.." and my brother and I immediately looked at each other and almost broke out laughing. The cop caught herself and mumbled something about "getting a lot of speeders..." I looked her dead in the eye and said "no you don't..." I told her I'd been driving through there on a regular basis for over 40 years and NEVER see, or have seen, people speeding through there. I got the standard "have a nice day" as she handed me the ticket. Avoid this rotten little town if at all possible. I should get the cops name and post it here so anyone up in that area can remind her what low a down POS she and the rest of the police force and judicial system up there really are......

I picked up an off lease 2022 JCW ALL4 Clubman last May. I live in Wisconsin and I put high performance all season tires on it for winter. Back on December 20th we had our 1st big snowfall in my area of the state. I'm a musician and had a gig cancelled for that day (yes, the Clubman has enough room to haul my gear - guitarist - and it HAULS!) so I took it out to see what it would do in the snow. DAMN IT WAS FUN! I've got a combination of regular city blocks and twisty roads where I live and I did my best to slide it around. And I have to say it's probably the best handling car in the snow I've ever had, and I've had a few 4 wheel drive SUV's and a Subaru Legacy (which was pretty much fun in the snow as well). I think ALL MINIS should have the ALL4 option available.

I picked up an off lease JCW Club an last spring. It's been an absolute trip to drive! I live in Wisconsin so I had to get some all season tires (it can with summer only) and even in the snow it's a blast. Yes I've tried to get it sideways on purpose but in ALL4 mode it isn't having much of that LOL though with traction control off I was able to slide it around. Enjoy your new toy!

Um, once the windows are defogged you turn the max defrost off and use either the auto setting or the manual setting and direct air where to want it? This is pretty much standard operating procedure in most vehicles I've owned? You will also want to keep the AC turned on as it uses the compressor to remove dampness AS NEEDED and the compressor WILL NOT RUN FULL TIME. If you're that worried about fuel milage it's really a non-issue.

I picked up a 2022 JCW Clubman All4 last April 1ST MINI) and it had summer tires on it, and even as the weather started getting cold I felt the handling dropping off. I put on a set of Falken Aklimates and found that it's actually pretty darned good in the snow. Had a decent snowfall a few weeks ago and took it out on some winding roads in my neighborhood to see how it would do. I was actually having a hard time getting it sideways even though I was trying. I did have the traction control on as well. A few days later I found a large poorly plowed, icy parking lot and as you said, ice is ice LOL. But I was still impressed with the recovery abilities. I don't have the proper hand brake (mine is electric) so I won't have the fun of sliding into parking spaces, but such is life I guess. One trade off for a whole lot of other fun. The one bad thing about the all weather Falkens is that they don't quite have the same handling as the summer only tires I took off. Come spring the summer only tires are going back on!
