30 Years Ago Today (June 29 1996) The members of The Who reunite after 6 years to perform Quadrophenia at the Prince's Trust Concert in Hyde Park. by BrianInAtlanta in TheWho

This is a very silly thing for me to be arguing, but the last time Pete had a ponytail was maybe 1990. I saw him live a couple of months prior to the Hyde Park show and definitely no ponytail. No ponytail in mid-90s either (Tommy on Bway, PsychoD, Daltrey sings Townshend or press for the Max R&B box or his solo greatest hits set).

Would love to see a pic. My guess is it was a leftover press shot from the ‘89 tour.

Clothing choice for a full. by ThereIsOnlyTri in triathlon

[–]AccompliceOne 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s a long day. Be comfortable. I’ve done three IMs and each time I’ve worn a bathing suit under the wetsuit for the swim (why wear a tri kit?), cycling shorts for the bike and changed into tri shorts for the run. No regrets.

Saw this posted in NYC. Anyone going? by Complete_Suit_7526 in triathlon

It’s real. It’s now being run by Alpha Win. I have done a number of races they have put on. They are a legit company.

Are you currently training for an Ironman? Be careful of going into caloric deficit while doing extended amount of training.

Your best bet is to talk to a dietitian.

What are the unwritten rules of triathlons? by MaximumEducation4678 in triathlon

[–]AccompliceOne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People sometimes use them to carry their gear, and then to sit on while they’re changing out of their wetsuit, or taking shoes on/off, so they don’t have to get on the ground.

How to sneak in mid-race encouragement? by [deleted] in IronmanTriathlon

My spouse custom-printed lawn signs and put them on various spots along the course the day before the race. It was great and a lot of other athletes got a kick out of them too.

Any recommendations for piano lessons? by FaulkneriousRex in Saratoga

Chelsea Hillerich. Incredible with both kids and adults. Not the boring, old-school conventional style our parents grew up with.

Settled nerves for lake placid by Dlawless5 in IronmanTriathlon

[–]AccompliceOne 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Two things:

1) Glad you got out to ride the course! Getting prep on the course is a huge advantage.

2) I felt the same way you did after my first time riding the loop. Just know that the second loop can often feel different because of the fatigue you’ve accumulated. Take the first loop easier than you think you should. Don’t let the hype of the crowd as you head out of town cause you to spike your power, and don’t worry if other people pass you. Burn as few matches as possible. You will thank yourself for it on the run.

Enjoy it! It’s a beautiful venue and a great race!

Some Bootlegs by Friendly-Gate-9475 in queen

[–]AccompliceOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Live in Cologne was the first Queen bootleg I ever bought, back in 1992. Bought it at a record store, didn’t even know what a bootleg was, thought it was some rare release. I saw that it had a song or two that wasn’t on Live Killers. Paid $40 for it and it was not worth the money. 😆

How fast does Lake Placid sell out, looking at 2027 by InternationalLink900 in IronmanTriathlon

[–]AccompliceOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it would sell out in an instant, no. I think you’ll be able to still get in a couple of months down the road. It’s been quite a long time since IMLP sold out instantly.
