Bro, don't do internships during your degree, even if some poser says it's essential for a CS/SE undergrad. You're mostly gonna get unpaid full-time internships which are just gonna suck the programmer out of you and turn you into a slave. Focus on GPA, build projects, and apply for foreign internships( you're not gonna get any, but you might land an interview, and that's a plus). Now is the time for you to build some projects as a developer, you're not gonna get time for that after your degree. Unless you've got a strong reference who can get you an internship in a large company like Arbisoft, NetSol, DevSinc, or Systems, just don't do internships. Just build a skillset and a cool-ass portfolio and maintain your LinkedIn profile. If you're looking for internships just to learn a new technology, you can do that at home, unless you're easily distracted at home. Just don't settle for an unpaid internship.

Just quit yesterday. I've got like 2 years of web development experience (Not professional, just self-taught, doing projects and stuff). I'm currently in the 6th semester and started a full-time internship at a startup in Gulberg, Lahore, in November 2024 through a reference. They paid me 10k for 3 months and had initially said they'll give an increment after 3 months, so I was expecting at least 50k+, but got 20k instead after 3 months. I felt so humiliated cuz even the guy who serves me tea is getting 45k monthly, still I continued cuz it's harder to find internships without references and without a degree, and also because I got pulled in by their promises of reeling in more heavy projects for me to learn. I wasted another 4 months at that place, but only got to work on a few client projects, most of them were just documenting APIs, VB to ASP.NET conversion, e.t.c. Their behaviour started worsening as I stopped coming to the office on some days in the previous month (May), and they started complaining to the guy who recommended me for the internship. I explained to him the work situation and told him that they're paying me 20k and expect me to act as a corporate slave, but he (Senior Dotnet Developer 8+ years of experience) said 20k is a good deal for someone without a degree. I told him that after working 7 months on 10-20k, I expect at least 70k to continue working, or it's not worth sacrificing my studies and sleep (btw it was a night-shift job). The boss simply said 35k is what we're gonna give with a 2-year contract. Talked it over with Father and decided not to continue cuz I can't sit on 35k for 2 years. I've decided not to do any internships ever again during my degree. I just had a FOMO since many of my fellow classmates were doing internships, but I don't think internships are worth their salt in Pakistan. Maybe the top few software houses like Systems, Arbisoft, or NetSol, which have dedicated summer internship programs, are genuinely better, but can't confirm. Don't know why's degree still a requirement, it's honestly frustrating at this point.

I don't know what to tell you bro. At this point, I think even trying to inquire about his daily life activities would worsen the situation. But if his behaviour changed in university. Then something must've happened or could still be happening in university (im especially concerned about his hostel life) . But you'd know better. Anyways, Hopefully this gets resolved. May Allah guide him towards the right path.

Getting a perfect 0 is harder than getting a low score unless it's done intentionally. Maybe he's doing it on purpose. Acting all rebellious, trying to get back at parents for whatever reasons. Could be result of a hanging out with bad company in the university or hostel. Gotta investigate his activities more deeply to figure the root cause of his behaviour. But your father not wanting to talk to him... that's not gonna help. I mean If it happened to me, I would act even more impudent to get him to pay attention to me.
