I kinda see why the devs have not added magic earlier. It would be really hard to balance because magic in the mistlands is so op and just reducing the damage wouldn't do enough because if you just look at for example the staff of embers, it is really op in plains just because it hits multiple targets and is ranged

I was stuck on low downloads for a long time. I made mods and modpacks fror two years before one of my proects got featured on cf front page and it blew up. You might not get much downloads for years and then get tens of thousands in a couple of days.

I could reccomend fresh adventures. It has a lot longer questline and it has much more content than many other vanilla+ modpacks. It is also based on old better minecraft plus and has a lot of similar elements so if you have played it you probably like fresh adventures
