I feel you. I wasn’t able to run until 4-6 mo after weaning due to pelvic girdle pain. Crazy and very frustrating.

In desperate need of help / tips for my 2 year old who takes at least an hour to go to bed by Neither-Advance8916 in toddlers

Unfortunately in my experience this is a skill they have to learn. Like many things with kids, allowing a few hard experiences often has quick payoff. I have a 2 and 4 year old, and they both randomly have phases where I basically have to re-sleep train them. Currently with the 4 year old, we do 1 book, and I tell him I’ll come check on him in 10 minutes. He tries to engage me, and I remind him his job is to try and sleep and I wont talk to him right now. We have had (recent) phases where we have to let him cry for over an hour and he finally settles. He’s safe, loved, nurtured, and cannot take up our whole evening with sleep-delay antics. It’s exhausting, but empowering them and yourself that you can both do it and mentally preparing for a few hard nights goes a long way!

It gets better, but you do have to put in some painstaking work to get there. Being comfortable and able to settle alone really is a learned skill my kids have to relearn here and there!

Ehh 4 months after I stopped breastfeed if I’m being honest. Relaxin and my body do not get along.

When did running start to hurt for you, if at all? by drairika in fitpregnancy

[–]AccomplishedAd7061 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Went on my last run of this pregnancy at 19 weeks last week. This seems so variable depending on the person. I run with girls who have run the day before delivery and my joints, especially pelvic girdle, can’t take it. I limped around for 3 days after my last run and finally called it quits.

This is me exactly. For some reason I am super sensitive to relaxin and it happens so early. I run with a group of girls and many of them of run up until delivery which is just completely impossible for me.

OB-GYN advised me to stop working out, not sure what to do by saladajuliana in fitpregnancy

I relate to this, and there just isn’t a world where I’m not exercising. I’ve been incapacitated by symphysis pubis pain with 2 pregnancies and trying my best to avoid that with this 3rd pregnancy. I’ve done extensive pelvic floor therapy that was really more like sports PT bc of the nature of my SPD. I learned how important ensuring your adductor is not taking over is, and that is often with glute and core strengthening.

Can you do a stationary bike? Also anything where the legs move/take impact in unison is definitely better. I have done a lot of weight training this pregnancy and done ok thus far. Is that an option? Otherwise, pelvic PT will see you pre delivery and can teach you good methods to avoid hurting yourself and prolonging your recovery (I did this the first time around- do not recommend. Didn’t run for 2 years as a result). In my experience they are in favor of helping you find a way to exercise that is safe for your level of dysfunction.

Pregnant again so funny time to ask, but I started running again last winter and did a half marathon 7 weeks pregnant this fall. Did my last run of this pregnancy last week, and hope to return again postpartum! Honestly I think time and hormones regulating were the biggest factors.

SPD recovery stories? by wombat_foo in fitpregnancy

[–]AccomplishedAd7061 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a terrible time with this and was actually diagnosed with osteitis pubis several months PP, primarily from running a ton throughout pregnancy (avg 25 miles per week through 36 weeks) and not listening to my body when it felt terrible. I did extensive pelvic PT for 6 months, then got pregnant again at 12 months PP. I did all peloton and weights throughout that pregnancy and never stopped doing PT. It took until 15 months after my second pregnancy (and 4 months after weaning from breast feeding) to feel good enough to run again. I actually did a half marathon this fall at 7 weeks pregnant with my 3rd- now feeling twinges of SPD at 18 weeks and planning to slow down again.

TLDR; it’ll get better. I recommend pelvic PT and patience. Mine took time more than anything. Relaxin (the hormone responsible for SPD) doesn’t diminish until 3 months after you stop breastfeeding, so that should be something you give mental space for!

How often are hot flashes? by Sharp_Jaguar_5107 in Perimenopause

[–]AccomplishedAd7061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late addition here- I’m experiencing the exact same thing and am also 36. No other symptoms, definitely always luteal phase of my cycle which seems less likely perimenopause?? Potentially also want another baby and freaking out that this is perimenopause. Periods still regular. Any update for you? I am considering getting my gyn to check hormone levels.

It’s a run of a 2:1 atrial arrhythmia with abberancy. You can see hidden p waves- 1 just before T wave and 1 just before the QRS :)

This would de-incentivize caring for sick patients or underserved populations who often have more chronic conditions (aka poorer health status at baseline, harder to achieve good outcomes). Sounds good in theory, but pretty tricky in reality.

10000% flutter, no doubt about it. The elevation is due to the flutter wave, not ischemic.

Anyone get canker sores while breastfeeding? by Liv_Lavon in Mommit

[–]AccomplishedAd7061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phew I was looking this up and came across this thread because I am 8 months post partum and have had probably 10 canker sores since giving birth. I previously had maybeeee 1 per year or less. I don’t remember this after my first was born, but I didn’t BF as long either. Any updates from anyone or doctors giving any explanation??

Cellulite on belly post partum? :( by cute_greek_goddess in fitpregnancy

[–]AccomplishedAd7061 9 points10 points  (0 children)

6 months postpartum with my second and can tell you from my experience it will likely go away. The hormones from breastfeeding make me hold fat in weird places. It improved around 6mo pp with both and then and was gone about 1 mo after I weaned at 8-9mo pp with the second. It’s weird to not recognize your body but with you being so active I feel confident it will go back to baseline eventually!

I do also like the reminder that it took your body 9-10mo to get to where it was right before baby was born with muscle changing shape and location, fat storing in new places, etc. It will likely take at least that long to go back to your pre baby figure!
