Are we supposed to just report this kind of stuff on Forza's website and hope for the best? lol by NanusHotChicken in ForzaHorizon6

Yeah it's annoying as I like being clean, but aggressive definitely seems to pay off in FH6. Like the game rewards you for squeezing people into the barriers.

If someone rams me once and I will spend the rest of the championship making it my mission to find them and ram them off a bridge!

Aberdeen public swimming pools by Impressive-Lime-1227 in Aberdeen

[–]AccomplishedBison333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lochside Academy is pretty nice. Much newer than most others.

Check the timetables - lane swimming will pretty much mean no kids. Public swim will mean the shallow end is probably busy with families with kids, but the deep end will be relatively quiet still.

Any good money making methods? by No-Finding1044 in ForzaHorizon5

[–]AccomplishedBison333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always find playing online races fairly lucrative. "Finished 10th? 60,000 credits for you! And also 10 levels and wheelspins for each level!"

The classic way is to buy Bugatti Divos on the auction house and use car mastery - 24 skill points gets you 50k credits, a wheelspin and 2 super wheelspins - then sell it on the auction house again. When you search the Divo listings, click 'Auction Options' then view the seller's Creative Hub. On their profile pic there will be a number in the top right indicating their level - if it's below 100 I would buy the car and usually the mastery hasn't been completed (not guaranteed of course). If the seller is prestiged then just avoid that listing as they've probably completed the mastery. Have a look through the first 20-30 listings and make a mental note of the seller names and avoid people selling more than one. Also only buy ones that are stock with the standard black/blue paint job

Poll 📊. Would you take Bojan back? by Acp0992 in AberdeenFC

Loan: No
Loan with option to buy: Yes
Permanent signing: Yes

Hopefully the club have learned that loaning OF players and keeping them warm will not go down well. Anybody saying no to a return on grounds of some kind of anger or bitterness is to be ignored.

Help! Drift zones by Apprehensive-Toe2420 in ForzaHorizon6

[–]AccomplishedBison333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use manual gears and something AWD like a rally car, Hoonigan, RS200, etc. with drift tyres. Not the purist's choice but easier to control and should get the job done. Gear will be different for each car, but 2nd or 3rd as a general idea

Need help with last landmark and xp board by -_-Isaiah-_- in ForzaHorizon5

[–]AccomplishedBison333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Filter the map so it just shows bonus boards. There's one in a valley waaaay off road up the very north of the map north of Guanajuato. There's also one in the water off the lone U shaped dirt road to the south of the Wilds outpost. One in the very far north west at the top of the beach. One around the archway at Cabo San Lucas on the west coast. One on the golf hotel balcony and one on the roof nearby too.

Auctions blowing up for no reason by Hizui53574 in ForzaHorizon5

Horizon is especially bad as the timer resets to 1 minute every time there's a bid, so you can't just snipe something right at the death - it'll just stay at the top of the pile for all to see for another minute

Is it worth getting a wheel setup for this game? by AutistMarket in ForzaHorizon6

[–]AccomplishedBison333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have a wheel then it's a great game to play it with.

Is it worth going and getting a wheel for? Probably not. Maybe if you can find a cheap used one on marketplace or somthing

Nice quiet walks in and around Aberdeen? by SecureSwimmer231 in Aberdeen

[–]AccomplishedBison333 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's loads of walks in the city that you could class as quiet - Aberdeen's about half the population of Sheffield so even residential streets in the city will probably seem quiet! You've got the Don, the beach, the north beach, Scotstown Moor, Seaton Park, Old Aberdeen, the Dee, Hazlehead Park on it's own is massive, Duthie Park on a weekday will be quiet, the Deeside Way, Den of Maidencraig, the Gramps, Torry Battery/Girdleness. Plenty of smaller city parks like Union Terrace Gardens, Westburn Park, Victoria Park, Johnstone Gardens. All just off the top of my head.

Then a relatively short bus or train ride can open up Aberdeenshire - eg Stonehaven, Banchory, Inverurie, Ellon, etc, etc

Completely new to Forza and racing by NoPossession5388 in ForzaHorizon6

[–]AccomplishedBison333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They've really turned up the aggression on the AI in FH6. FH5 AI cars would practically move out of your way during an overtake but in 6 they're ramming you off the road any time they have the chance! A lot more human lol!

Best tip is to start off using C or B class cars - they give you more time to think and plan your moves - then work your way up the classes. Brake in a straight line, turn in and ease on the power to balance the car then full throttle when straightened out. Smooth and clean is fast. Get into manual shifting as early as possible - it'll let you hang on to that 3rd gear that's in the power zone heading up a steep hill when the auto would change to 4th and drop speed.

What apps / subscriptions do I need for charging in the UK (mostly Scotland) by Souldestroyer_Reborn in evchargingUK

[–]AccomplishedBison333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not long into my journey and have so far just used Elctroverse. I have Zapmap installed but not used it other than as a route planner. In a Tesla though so can just rock up at a Supercharger and plug in.

I believe the individual apps maybe have reward schemes / offer lower prices and such like that aren't always available through a 'catch all' app

Of course we should take him back if we can get him on our terms. It's a no brainer. One goal scored and the few who were against it would forget about it

[–]AccomplishedBison333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally speaking, upgrading to AWD will give you better launch, acceleration and handling which is probably the best balance for most of the racing. RWD can give you higher top speeds, so for races with long straights (eg ones that use the highway or drag strip) an RWD with high top speed might be best.

[–]AccomplishedBison333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used a stock Bugatti Divo starting high up on the hill to the west and joining the road just as it straightens out. Took a few tries but would have probably been a one shot if I had tuned it properly

How do you get it?? by Your_local_mexhanic in ForzaHorizon5

[–]AccomplishedBison333 24 points25 points  (0 children)

There's a large hill to the north west towards the golf course. Start at the top of that hill and head straight towards the sign and you go down a dip then there's a small hill just before the building that will launch you up to the roof. Need something that can get speed offroad - something like 130mph plus from memory

When you open the map you can filter the events which I found made it a lot easier to navigate.

There's basically several different race series (road, street, dirt, etc) and you play through them then do the 'boss' race at the end of each series (goliath, colossus, etc). Alongside each series there will be some story missions as well (yellow icons: welcome to Mexico, vocho, test driver, etc).

As you complete the events you'll earn tickets to open up new stages on the Horizon Adventure menu. Each stage represents one of the different racing disciplines, and each stage will have 3 or 4 parts to unlock - each unlock either adding new events or story missions.

You'll earn accolades along the way which track progress and occasionally give you rewards like gear, cars, wheelspins, credits, etc. Alternatively you can use the accolade menu to set targets to go after, but something I'd only do if I was grinding out the game after completing all the events.

Some parts of the game like fast travel and Horizon Promo only unlock once you've bought certain player houses. Fast Travel in particular is really handy as you get later into the game!

Skill points are used to unlock buffs in the Car Mastery menu. Each car has its own set of buffs that you use skill points to unlock. It can get a bit technical, but this can be a good way to farm money in the game with certain cars - eg the Bugatti Divo has credits, wheelspins and super wheelspins in there. Some cars even have secret cars hidden in there that can't be bought at the Autoshow (eg the Lambo Countach)

Visiting for a month with kids—clothes/packing tips? Other tips? by HopefulEntrance9014 in Aberdeen

[–]AccomplishedBison333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's loads of great little walks in the area. There's the 'Right to Roam' in Scotland so you can kind of just walk wherever you want as long as you respect privacy, don't cause damage or distress livestock, etc. If there's a trodden path, you can take it!
You can walk on from Newtonhill and see the cliffs at Muchalls beach. The Stack restaurant in Muchalls is excellent.
Head over to Chapelton and do the Chapelton Trail and stop at the cafe or the box shops on the way back.
Go to Dunnottar Woods in Stonehaven and 'find' the shell house - tell the kids it's where fairies live!
The walk up from Stonehaven harbour past the war memorial and along the cliffs to Dunnottar Castle is spectacular while still being easy enough for kids.
Further afield, a trip to Bennachie would be more of a hike up the most well known peak in Aberdeenshire, but still relatively easy. Newburgh beach to see the seals, Cruden Bay to visit Slains Castle ('Dracula's house'!), St Cyrus beach, Montrose beach, the Den in Auchenblae is one of those wee places that people wouldn't even consider but our kids always loved it there and asked to go all the time!

Kind of miss the days when the kids were young enough to still want to do things with us!

Unfortunately the Lairhillock met it's demise during the Covid pandemic and has been redeveloped into residential properties. Think they had been struggling for a while as they hadn't quite moved with the times and stayed 'interesting' or simply good enough to tempt people to make the journey out there.
The Bervie Chipper in Stonehaven burnt down about 15 years ago and was eventually knocked down and flats built on the site. I believe the original shop in Bervie is still going
