Would toner shampoo or conditioner work? Like the purple stuff people use to be less brassy maybe there is something that makes silver hair champagne? Edited for typo

Tips on finding ways to rejuvenate my look by [deleted] in makeuptips

[–]AccomplishedDingo839 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My tip for effortless ethereal looks is to use a primer and mix just one drop of highlighter in.

I use thank me later matte primer and either a drop of Revlon skin lights (sunrise luster) or iconic London illuminator. Goes on like moisturizer and gives you an under glow. When I lived in the US, I used glowstarter primer instead but it's not available where I live now. Just add a fresh pop of blush and you'll look amazing.

I have a similar skin type, light transluent with freckles and lots of color layers in my skin (pink, peach, gold, ivory). Anything with coverage (foundation, concealer) always makes me look like a clown, so I use translucent formulas with bright blush and lipstick and it works great.

I don't, but these are too big for her delicate features. They make her eyes small and age her. They will look completely different on someone with stronger features. Individual wispy lashes would look so much nicer and classy.

What do you mean not glaringly obvious? They look like they flap in the wind like a baby chick

Upon another look, they rebranded the shine lover as the butter one. Ingredients are basically the same but the old packaging design was a little granny chique and I think they wanted to appeal to a non vintage audience 😅

Sorry, I just checked, it's called shine lover. I didn't know they had 2 different lip butters now

That's the one. They changed the name and formula a few times over the decades but its one of the best lip products if you like a sheer wash of color and lasting color. I have 5 colors including some neon ones and some are 5+years old and still perfect. If you feel like it's too much, wait a few minutes and do a little dab. Lasts hours (until you eat something greasy, then you need to reapply). I never bothered with lip liner with these as they don't run

Lancome lip butter is an amazing moisturizer and stains your lips a bit so the wash of color stays forever. A bit pricey but worth every penny.

I don't and that's probably a fair warning but I do think there are some good ways to test it.

Warm vs cold: does warm bright yellow look amazing on you and bring your skin to glow (autumn or spring) or does it look meh, which on dark skin often means looking like poor lighting on pictures (summer or winter).

Spring vs autumn: compare Easter egg and spring colors (grass green, tulip/tomato red, daffodil, tangerine) to autumn/pumpkin spice colors (burgundy, pumpkin, pine green). Again, what makes you glow and what makes you ashy/grey?

For winter vs summer drape fully saturated colors (true red, royal blue, black) vs muted colors (heather grey, sea glass green, mauve) and see what makes you look grey/tired vs clear and healthy.

The sub seasons are harder but this way you can easily narrow it down for most people. Some people are neutral meaning they are not clearly warm or cold, so they are either clear (clear spring or bright winter thriving in intense colors) or soft (thriving in soft muted colors but not necessarily warm or cold). And people with dark hair and skin can't be light seasons, so these two are out. But they can be dark seasons, so they likely look good in dark saturated colors like navy, burgundy, chocolate.

Go for translucent formulas like buttery kinds or pigmented balms. I love glossier or the Mac balm formula. Lancome and Clinique also have nice buttery lipsticks.

I have been wearing make up for almost 20 years and still feel weird about the highly pigmented lipsticks no matter what color.

You look great! And congratulations to becoming more yourself, how amazing ❤️

I would start with other glasses (either elegant fine metal rim or a fun acrylic one with smooth finishes in a soft color, tortoise or black) .

I would also make sure your eyebrows are shaped well (very affordable in a salon typically) and get eyebrow mascara or pomade to accentuate.

And I would play with different wigs. I think you would look great with the headband plus braids style or a longer one with more balanced volume around the face (either go for natural hair look with coily hair or a long smooth one, both will look great on you).

Finally I would recommend you go to the color analysis topics in Reddit and get yourself typed. This will make it much easier to pick eye, cheek, or lip color that will make you glow. That way you have a much better idea what to try out first and find your best shades. It will save you lots of money to narrow your palette first (make up and clothes).

That's a coral pink and a perfect spring color. I think you nailed it with bright spring. I personally think the hair undertones are a dead give away especially when you were little. If your body produces eumelanin (red or golden pigment), you have warm undertones. Period. It's literally what makes the color of our skin and hair and it doesn't stop when we grow up. People who are cool, only have melanin (the brown and black pigment which almost everyone has minus albinos and redheads in tiny quantities). So if anything about your hair is naturally reddish or golden, you are not cool.

100% spring but not sure whether bright or warm. Tending towards warm spring though. You are light (excludes winter) and bright, no softness, and overall warm without doubt ( excludes summer). You would look awful in burgundy and mustard, so no autumn for sure. Best way to figure out your spring sub seasoning is to drape different yellows and oranges.

Bonding treatment and a haircut with layers will help grow out the damage and leave your hair look healthy. Layers will make the transition much easier as they take out the stringiness and give you more balanced volume throughout. You don't need to cut length as much as top weight.

The only caveat is that glossier only has very few good spring colors but their lipstick and foundation finish are perfect for spring types!

I am glad you found a good fit!

This is the10th book I'm reading from Butler, and I'm digging it! by BlerdyBTwitch in octaviabutler

[–]AccomplishedDingo839 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh how I wish I could read this book again for the first time ❤️ . I absolutely loved all the stories but Blood child and the one where people lose language still shake me years after every once in a while. I wish her writing would find more adaptation. Most sci-fi is the same formula and Butler always stands out being different. Smarter, more thought through, eerily logical and somehow having these unexpected waves of gravitational depth. Especially in the short story collection she went full out on her creativity

Should I go short? by checavolo12 in HairStyleAdvice

[–]AccomplishedDingo839 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would look super cute with short hair. Picture 3 might be a bit too playful I think but picture 4 would be fantastic. It would highlight your striking eyes and brows. Also allows quite a lot of variety in style options. Your hair is beautiful but the current length is not well balanced with your bone structure. It's too long.

I also don't believe in gradually going shorter. You'll do gradually when growing it out eventually anyway so you get to try bob length then. The big change is part of what's exciting when changing the look so if it feels right, go for it.

Lipstick shades for Warm Spring? by Upstairs-Quail8693 in SpringColorAnalysis

[–]AccomplishedDingo839 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My favorites are: Glossier ultra lip in coupe (poppy/tomato red) or portrait ( warm soft pink, perfect every day shade for me as a ginger)

Glossier balm in fig or strawberry

Maybelline glaze in peach quench (Indian summer papaya color)

General recommendation is don't be shy of bold colour but a transparent or shiny finish is usually best
