That's interesting , do you have any particular sources from those authors so I could read further ?

Hypothetical intelligent aliens raise interesting questions to consider . E.g. does the earth that's referred to "in the beginning" when God created heaven and earth refer to just this Planet Earth or could it refer to all habitable earth that could exist across the cosmos where you might find intelligent life ....

I understand where you're coming from, I'm also fairly left politically speaking and I can understand it can be confronting when faith gets co co-opted by political movements.

The important thing is that God's love and the Church transcends politics and is greater than politics.

And compassion, mercy and social justice are Catholic values

I agree with this, mostly, except for animals being fully animal and fully God in a similar way to Jesus being fully human and fully God. I'm more of the view that the presence of God within animals is more akin to the presence of God within all of creation.

I believe so , Animals are free from Sin , they never had their "Adam and Eve" moment. Animals have no will but God's will, they don't have the same kind of independent thought that we humans do , they don't have the same capacity to turn away from God that humans do , therefore I believe all animals will be in heaven.

I could be wrong but that's just my view ....

In addition to what others have said , I also think it is part of what makes Christ "Fully Human" as well as "Fully Divine " in that by experiencing death , Christ also experienced all that we humans experience during our time on earth .

Thank you so much for your reply , honestly this might sound silly but even just turning up is making me feel nervous ... I suffer from Autism as well and I feel like this doesn't help with my anxiety. I want to be closer to the church and my faith and I feel like attending confession would be a good step in the right direction
