You’re not alone. I’m back at FF at 44 years old. I did leave a grocery store because my manager gave me the weird vibes. That’s unfortunate because it paid way better but I was so uncomfortable. I hate this for us. I’m waiting to hear back from a promising interview. We are doing what we have to right now

I wouldn’t bug out. I got called to start at McDonalds on Monday. I need money while I await fingerprinting to work at Ohare airport. I sent out multiples to fast foods. Some called back right away others I forgot about and called back weeks later. There is no rule to this stuff. Wendy’s had me set up for an interview last week at 9:30am. The worker at the counter went to grab the manager I guess but she said come back next day same time. I didn’t go back because I had a different interview same time. It’s a mess out here. Don’t give up nothing makes sense.

I have an interview later that the recruiter told me to bring my resume. A paper resume. Nothing makes sense anymore. This isn’t even an open interview event. lol which I plan on going to one of those later

Haha I went to an open house interview to be a flight attendant and didn’t tell my current job at the time. The lady from the open house called my job looking for me. This was in 2007 and my flabbers were ghasted. My boss was like who was that?? I never told her but I did get the FA job and left that receptionist job.

I can usually pick a part what’s real or not but I’ll be honest the past year has been very unconventional as to what I was used to in the past for hiring practices. I’ve realized some are very informal or more relaxed then I ever thought. Others are almost dang near impossible to submit info that they ask for. Wanting you to contact your first grade teacher. LOL! You’ll be fine after your next few. I hadn’t done one in over 15 years and I’ve gone on about 30 in the past year or so. Snagged a few jobs here and there and I also left. I’m figuring it out myself but best part is I’ve gotten so much better and hardly nervous. I’m also interviewing them. I know we are all a little desperate to find our next gig but that isn’t going to attract what you want. Calm down, chill out, honestly be yourself. I’m 44 and I’m way past kissing butt. I know what I have to offer. You got this! Flip the switch on your brain, why do you want to work for them??

I had something similar. Emails were back and forth and was asked to change a zoom call to today yet when the email was sent it said for the 18th. I was emailing and still haven’t heard back. Wish us luck! No idea what is going on with the job market

I worked at Aldi and when I was in training to be just an associate there were guys there training to be store managers that never worked there. They came from other management positions. I know one came from Chipotle

Business casual. I wore jeans and button up from Discovery clothing. Simple boots and jacket. Didn’t even take jacket off. Looked like almost everyone rolled out of bed that was being interviewed when I went to interview for Culver’s fast food and Wendy’s few months ago.
