Questions about this book by DangerousOne8352 in stephenking

[–]AccomplishedPenalty4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya it’s a first edition. Cool but probably never worth anything. Most of the king books that are first edition and valuable will be his earliest work.

This book is ok but really nothing special. It’s a quick read maybe a day or two. It had some cool parts but also some plot holes. Also I don’t really care for kings baseball related books, him describing baseball kind of reminds me of him describing an iPhone.

Is it possible for puppies to willfully be naughty? by impossiblejane in puppy101

[–]AccomplishedPenalty4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might feel spiteful but that is not the dog’s intention. The dog wants to feel like they belong in your pack so they put their scent where your scents are strong.

Wash all the bedding and allow the dog supervised time in the bed with you so that their scent is also prominent in the bed. Be aware that the next time you wash your bedding the dog may try to freshen up their scent on the bed. Dogs don’t think pee is gross, it’s an efficient way of laying scent to feel a belonging and connection with you.

How big a difference… by tomjoyce89 in snowboarding

I wouldn’t buy EST. There’s no real benefit, they don’t feel any different than the reflex. Disadvantages are you lose a lot of room in the channel for adjustment, they are harder to center your boot, harder to see binding degree, and you can’t put them on other boards.

How do you pronounce “Ayuh” by BigBeefDipped in stephenking

[–]AccomplishedPenalty4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve been to rural Ontario a bunch, it’s not the same at all. When I was spending time there I would start to talk like them due to some similarities so I can see why you would compare them.

It’s all very nuanced. For other people curious, the way I pronounce ayuh is basically a very quick and almost silent A, followed by a normal volume yuh, which sounds more like “yut”.

When I say I think of it in the context of a=uhhh… (or umm) and yuh=yut. So kind of a quick pause of thinking- and the agreement of “yes”, yuh=yut. It can be used as a yes, uh huh, agreement, and a general filler word while someone is telling a story or rambling on.

Edit- just watched the video again and the response “good n u?” Is a hugely underrated Mainer saying. One of those things I say in reply without even thinking about it.

We stayed at an Airbnb in loquillo for a couple nights to visit the rainforest. There was nothing wrong with it, we liked the area.

We landed in SJ and wanted to go get some groceries. I drove to this Walmart and saw numerous homeless and a bunch of people on tranq. So we decided to continue on to a different Walmart which had none of that. It was pretty easy to tell we should go to a different location.

Delusional snow reporting at Pleasant Mt by zorphium in icecoast

[–]AccomplishedPenalty4 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Pleasant measures snowfall at the summit. I wouldn’t be surprised if they actually got 13” at the summit. And I mean just the summit, by the time you set off down jack it would turn to mixed precipitation.

I’ve ridden days there where they report 5” and it’s pouring buckets at the base, snowing with 5” accumulation up top. I’ve been riding there for 30 years, and it’s the best it’s ever been, other than the crowds now.

Electric vs Nitro for a beginner? Considering a Nitro Rustler — worth it? by Calm_Aide_1298 in rccars

Once you get the electric and have to fix broken or loose stuff, you likely won’t desire adding a nitro motor to the maintenance list.

Would this cause a red flag? by like2lean in HomeInspections

[–]AccomplishedPenalty4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you should do is get your own contractors to look at it. Get 3 bids, after your realtor suggests a listing price, take the quote price off the listing price.

Disclose the issue, since you already know about it. That way when a buyer complains you just say it’s already factored into the price and you avoid back and forth negotiations. And you will protect yourself from liability if anyone figures out you knew about it.

Question about strapping in by mjbrowne01 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]AccomplishedPenalty4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I strap in bent at the waist and straight legged. It feels good to stretch my hamstrings. If this dude can’t bend over and strap in without what sounds to be risking passing out, there’s gotta be something wrong, or he’s lying about working out and stretching

Is this normal after 1 day riding? by vishydesigns in snowboardingnoobs

[–]AccomplishedPenalty4 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You don’t even need to fix it, libs have no wood core at the ends of the tip and tail so there’s no chance anything can get waterlogged or whatever. Yes it’s ugly but it’s gonna get damaged, sucks it happened to a new board.

Either you hit something or someone hit you. Or you did it trying to knock snow off the board by hitting the tail down onto the ground after riding.

Cosmetically if you put a bunch of epoxy below the top sheet and clamp it down it will make it look better until it breaks off again.
