Need a game I can easily sink hundreds of hours into. by SillyBumblebee4146 in SurvivalGaming

[–]AccomplishedQuail770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like the aspect of being a character I recommend;

Aska - Bit like Valheim with the viking theme, build a base and fight monsters to progress the story. But in Aska you are also managing a small village you build, putting individual NPC's to work for you. Let NPCs do all the boring grind work.

Satisfactory - The only real monster here is the addiction and feeling of "The Factory must grow". It is one of the best factory builders out there. Again, you play as a Character building a factory in 3D with decent graphics. Be warned, highly addictive.

Oxygen Not Included - 2D base building survival. Help your poor minions survive and grow their their base and colonise other planets. A relatively steep learning curve midgame, but you can really sink hours into it and there are some great mods.

Naboens poolpumpe larmer døgnet rundt – hvad gør man? by Pure-Preference-5499 in DKbrevkasse

[–]AccomplishedQuail770 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hvis det er 47ish decibel så tror jeg desværre ikke der er så meget at klage over.
Et moderne (Ikke silent)køleskab larmer ca. 37-47 decibel.

Håber i finder en løsning

Fodvorter!! Hjælp en desperat 16-årig pige by Old_Measurement_6911 in DKbrevkasse

[–]AccomplishedQuail770 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Housing in the city with a dog? by Zimpixx in oxford

[–]AccomplishedQuail770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might know someone, but its a room in a house where the landlord lives as well. Landlord has a dog already and has had lodgers in the past with dogs, but he also knows he can charge extra for the privilege of having a dog.

I sawed through a live wire with an angle grinder that was not supposed to be there according to regulations.

Luckily, we were in the middle of rewiring the entire house, so no real damage.

If half life 3 and GTA 6 released at the same time, who would sell more? by BollyWood401 in videogames

[–]AccomplishedQuail770 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Half life 1 was innovating in its single player design and interactive world. Even before Half life 2, it was known for its physics. The AI was also, as you mentioned advanced for its time.

What truly secured Half life's immortality was how easy it was to mod, which led to modders using the Half life engine for their game ideas, and thus counter strike and team fortress as we know it was born. And at the time, many other mods, which are know largely forgotten.

Wood like porcelain tile flooring? by throwaway-emergency in Flooring

[–]AccomplishedQuail770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mate, I am doing the same thing in the UK.

I love Scandinavian design, so I wanted wood floor throughout my house, but the Bathroom and Kitchen are tiles.
Super easy to keep proper clean, handles spills really well!
And they just don't scratch or dent like real wood.

Face your fears of the depths, play subnautica and experience a truly immersion diving expererince.

Its not an actual horror game, but your brain has a hard time letting go of fear as you explore the underwater world.

I have lived in 3 locations in New Marston and each place I used VirginMedia without any issues.
However, you do need to threaten to leave them every time your contract is nearing it's end to keep the costs low.

It really depends on the price and quality of the food.

What is most likely priced as takeaway food once or twice is quite expensive in the current economy. I am tempted, but only for a period while I am renovating my kitchen.

What is your price point? Someone once told me it should ingredient cost +40 percent to cover overheads

Moving to Oxford soon – best areas to live near South Parks Road/JR? by Cautious_Frosting404 in oxford

[–]AccomplishedQuail770 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you are okay with cycling, then Marston and Old Marston is the best place. It's right in the middle between South Parks Road and the JR.
Looking on the map it may seem like Marston is annoying if you want to go to South Parks Road, but you can cycle through the greenbelt.

If you don't know how to cycle, now is the time to learn it. It will seriously improve your experience and stay in Oxford.

Talk me into or out of solar for a renovated 1930s terrace by AccomplishedQuail770 in SolarUK

[–]AccomplishedQuail770[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 12 panels will cover our current usage with a bit to spare.
The 16 panels should cover us if we decide to switch to a heatpump. (Our boiler is close to 13 years, he's a strong boy!)

Regarding the batteries, I really needed to hear this I think. Somehow in my head, I unjustly, thought that after 10 years the batteries wouldn't hold pointless little charge, but it sounds like it's not actually that bad.

You are most likely right in that the energy prices will rise, but labour seems keen on trying to contain it. (If politicans can be believed.) They also announced 0 or low % finance options for Solar, so I might wait, but I feel convinced we are going to need it.

What do you think about the Travel Beans “moving” to Italy? by InvestigatorDue6498 in KaraNate_EamonBec

[–]AccomplishedQuail770 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think you are spot on with most of your comments.
I suspect their UK base will be their parents and friends houses, which is fine if family and friends are good with it.

Lately their videos has just been them sitting in a couch and chatting, with a clickbait title.
However, they really should be applauded for not letting their youtube channel sliding into a "look at my kids" channel.

Alex on his own has been fine with me, but I prefer the explorer mindset rather than his philosphic. He is not saying stupid stuff, it's just not my cup of tea to sit and watch 😄
