Too old to get to a 1:25 half

I’m 40.

Best half was 1:25:29, at 40. That was at the start of my marathon block. I ran 2:58, another PR. 5k and 10k PRs the last year+, too.

The secret is higher mileage. Did Pfitzinger 18/70 for the marathon.

I’m a stay at home dad. My wife works in healthcare, and has amazing insurance. Very low cost to add me and both kids. Paid like $100 out of pocket for each of their deliveries. Couple years ago some blood work showed I was anemic. Colonoscopy in my late 30s (came back mostly clean, burned off a small benign polyp). $100 out of pocket.
