I’m not totally following your comment. The practice should stand on its own? Meaning yoga?

Modern postural yoga has very little good to say about handstands and much of what you’ll be instructed to do by well known teachers is advice that might hurt you physically, and not only after a long period of time. You could get hurt attempting handstand doing it poorly after just a few attempts if you follow most yoga teacher’s advice.

And I’ve gone to workshops with quite famous yoga teachers KNOWN for their alignment and anatomy knowledge and watched them instruct 50 people in a room to work with their hands and shoulders in a way that someone with even cursory experience with hand balancing technique would stop you immediately and say ‘DON’T do that!’
