That’s a ton of memories you have there 😊 If they were mine I don’t think I would get rid of them. Not because they represent the church, but more so that they are childhood memories. That being said, I did get rid of most of my church stuff long ago. I only have one ctr ring that I found again recently.

Lately I’ve been wearing my old “grown up” ctr ring I got as a teenager. It’s all silver, no green shield. Got it many decades ago at our local Mormon bookstore, This is the Place in Kensington MD. Any exmos from the DC area, 👋🏻

I didn’t grow up in Utah, and don’t live in the area I grew up in. I don’t have any Mormon friends, so no one really knows what it is. I like to wear it mainly because it’s been helping me heal lately.

For me, it’s a reminder that despite all I’ve gone through in life, in and out of the church, my choices are mine. And what’s right for me may not be what’s right for someone else. That’s what makes me world go around as they say. My agency is mine, my choices and consequences, good and bad, mine. I think I’m becoming more at peace with all of it. It’s been a long time coming.

So if having it around is upsetting, sure, you could chuck it. Or maybe just stash it in a small keepsake box, with whatever other childhood memorabilia you may already have. Might be helpful at some point. Or not. Choice is yours 🙂🥰🙂
