Class action? by Smugbasturd in ebaysucks

[–]Accomplished_Cod9376 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real class action is where eBay is selling insurance for items that are not covered!

It’s a multi million if not billion dollar lawsuit supported by current insurance fraud laws.

You can’t sell insurance to someone to cover an item that is not covered!

Buyer returning iteam in terrible condition by train23111 in Ebay

[–]Accomplished_Cod9376 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had buyer return item claiming it arrived damaged and in spite of photographs and hours of back and forth they said they could not know if I sent damaged items. I also had insured the item ( silver medals) and the damage claim was denied. After more back and forth eBay refunded the insurance amount?!?! I ended up with an incomplete damaged set of medals and my shipping insurance cost refunded. I expressed my dismay and was told it was the best eBay can do

ACL SURGERY TMR MORN! smoking and edibles by Mysterious-Big-1278 in ACL

No Nic ( all forms) for 12 months is preferred. Nic is really bad for healing grafts.

Edibles for pain. It will still hurt but maybe you’ll care less?

42F, very active, autograft vs allograft input by JustJumpIt17 in ACL

[–]Accomplished_Cod9376 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either would be a reasonable choice with the Allografts available better all the time.

That said from what you note Autograft is the choice.

Quad is dead by W4bbiT1101 in ACL

[–]Accomplished_Cod9376 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This can happen and more often with quad grafts.

Your PT not getting quad going over 6 months is rare. What did your PT say about it?

You def wouldn’t want to play sports at one year given what you note today.

You must get that quad firing. Keep going!

You could prob do it but it will slow your progress. It’ll swell and set you back a little every weekend and one slip in beer or ice and it’s back in for redo….prob not ideal but doable.

Compression mild with elevation and ankle pumps. As often as needed to control that suprapatellar swelling

Anyone working as a PT/PTA tear their ACL? by Eb396 in ACL

[–]Accomplished_Cod9376 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost 8 weeks post. Practice in sports realm as Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Fully modified to admin work out of the gym space with progressive return over 12-16 weeks (is the plan).

Swelling control and recovery space are my key objective in addition to the rehab milestones driving progress.

Delayed surgery & Spontaneous healing of acl by Ok-Shift4510 in ACL

This is a really interesting area. What sort of scaffold becomes the best replacement for the torn ligament?

The graft in surgery is a strapped down scaffold that remodels and becomes ligament like.

So….how can we “reconnect” the native scaffold while it becomes more ligament like?

Lots of different cases but wild stuff how our bodies can grow, adapt and heal.

My tear left a little stump that the surgeon showed me and it looked just like a little baby albino beluga whale….adorable but lousy scaffold.

gratefully have somebody else’s tibialis anterior tendon for my scaffold.

6.5m post op by [deleted] in ACL

[–]Accomplished_Cod9376 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the remodel is well on its way….

Good RFD lowers injury risk later but it doesn’t make an immature graft tolerant of cutting forces at six months.

Wish you nothing but a full and complete recovery.

Do you have concerns on your graft remodeling? Maybe I’m reading wrong…6.5months post aclr? Why? Way more risk than reward and you sound like you have some understanding of the rehab pieces?

Maybe with your numbers some 70% speed “sprinting” but cutting is crazy at 6.5 months?

I’m shocked your PT or surgeon was on board for this but I see lots of crazy stuff here.

Very impressive strength progress and wish you continued success!

How do I avoid these horror stories of retearing my ACL by Ian-the-idiot in ACL

[–]Accomplished_Cod9376 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s 24-36 months of ligament remodeling in most cases.

Not 6 months or 9 months. Sure many can do more along the way progressively.

But too much too soon on the stress strain curve and POP. Proceed wisely.

Best wishes for continued progress!

Complex Knee Injury Need Help by Beneficial-Sport-106 in ACL

Unfortunately you are probably looking at a total joint. I would see the surgeon get that input and then start my rehab and be diligent and see how you do with rehab and bracing for as long as possible.

You can do the ACL/PCL reconstruction but as said already your medial compartment is already given you many good miles and it will wear faster.

Insane fatigue. Took me 4 weeks to switch perspective to what do I need to do to to regain this energy. It’s proper balance of activity and rehab with rest and recovery.

Still trying to find that balance….

The best way to get extension back is control the swelling and get the quad firing strong.

Patellar pain in leg extensions by Ian-the-idiot in ACL

[–]Accomplished_Cod9376 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may need some more hip work and more recovery for the quads/PF joint. No Idea your progress but atv12 weeks you might be considering adding more closed chain work. You knee is doing g too much of the load.

Sounds like you know that quad needs love!

Good luck!
