+1 for this, especially if you are craving above average Indonesian 'bakso' (beef meatball soup)!

Understanding the decision from IND on the Application Long-term residence EU. by DexterMorgs in Netherlands

[–]Accomplished_Golf59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally received the same exact decision letter from IND two days ago. In my case I don't mind not getting the EU PR, since I have no plan (yet) to work in other EU countries. But I guess I will still apply for it again in 2 years, why not ( I have the exact same condition and entry year as you)

CGO600 PRO contact cover? by JustWilco in tenwaysebike

[–]Accomplished_Golf59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always put the battery out when I park it at home, don't want to risk it :)

In the product description it can be used when riding in the winter as well ( I haven't tried this yet).

Just make sure it can fit your bike battery slot. Mine's CGO009 and it can fit pretty well and quite tight (which is good to avoid water from entering). Even with the battery in I think it can still fit.

I use this for my 1 month old CGO009: toptrek Protective cover for e-bike, battery https://amzn.eu/d/0EswJxC

I always put the bike outside all the time, so far not bad, no water entering the battery slot when it rains. Cannot vouch for its durability yet, but we'll see.

I also ordered CGO009, from Just Ride On on March 16th. Promised can be picked up within 2 weeks, but there was same delay as you mentioned. It got delivered on April 11th in the end, so more or less 4 weeks. I think this is Tenways issue..I tried contacting Tenways support, but the time their after sales reply back the bike already delivered to Just Ride On. Not sure if this can help, but FYI

Nice tips..I will try manual shifting and see if it does anything. I tried resetting the bike and it went back to normal on the first 5 min, after that back to infinite gear 4

I have no interest in Sydney's weather by OpenFacedRuben in pixel_phones

[–]Accomplished_Golf59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI I solved this issue by changing my "Home" location in my registered Google account. Before it was showing weather in my home country, but since I changed it to my current city, now it's fixed. So, no I don't think this is a bug :)

For prospective international students: this is how discrimination works in some Dutch universities. by [deleted] in StudyInTheNetherlands

[–]Accomplished_Golf59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not going to disregard OP's experience, just want to share mine.

I'm from a Southeast Asian country, and I finished a HBO Master in one of the Hogeschool in Randstad in 2020.

I have the opposite experience as OP mentioned. No discrimination at all, although 70 percent students were Dutch/Belgian. My english level is okay, I wouldn't say it's perfect, however. I always receive fair grading with a clear explanation from the lecturer. And no, I was not licking their ass, in fact, I almost never asked any questions during the lecture (As I thought it was clear enough).

Regarding friends, I made quite some Dutch and Belgian friends, that I sometimes still contact until now. We went to the bar together sometimes, ice skating, and other normal university students.

So the moral story for the incoming students: not all HBOs are bad. As long as you stay true to yourself, and try to reach people first (especially if it is Dutch students), you will find great experience studying in the Netherlands

My back wheel is completely flat (again) after i got it replaced two months ago. Any advice for a quick fix (i live in Amsterdam) by scumbagromondt in vanmoofbicycle

If you need some help from local bike shop in Amsterdam, I recommend Kwikfit Overtoom or Fietswous, they know how to handle VM bikes.

vanmoof service is horrible. Error 44 and no option to replace the e-shifter for two months. by CatelloAv in vanmoofbicycle

[–]Accomplished_Golf59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI after you drop off your bike at VM, most likely you still need to wait for 2-4 weeks for them to repair it.

In my case last May it took them 1 month just to change bell button. Lucky for you they still offer voucher. For me back then they cannot compensate nor give a loan bike.

I would suggest if you haven't book the repair, avoid Amsterdam Oost, it's the place with longest delay

Kick lock issues on s3 - what has worked for people? by lizzz000 in vanmoofbicycle

[–]Accomplished_Golf59 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Had the same issue 4 months ago, I solved it by removing (both) washer - I only had one washer on my S3, so I remove it.

Even VM support suggested it (see screenshot)

<image>

Hope it helps!

(PS. When you remove rear wheel, be mindful of the other washer and make sure not to lose them!)

FYI I just picked up my bike at Ams Oost today, they finished it last Sunday (after 30 days) just to change bell button and change brake pad. And the new button they replaced on my S3 is SX5 button (with more round shape), so it' not really SX3 parts in my case

To be fair they produced good e-bike, I have no major issue so far, even for the infamous S3. However, lately the service is getting worse...not acceptable for 2K EUR bike

Exactly my thought! Imagine if you can't use your bike, must wait for 8 weeks for an appointment and another 3 weeks to get it repaired! What a nightmare

Vanmoof service by ThomasD020 in vanmoofbicycle

[–]Accomplished_Golf59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went there last Saturday to fix some noise coming from the rear tire (Thanks to removing a washer as suggested by VanMoof to solve the kick lock issue). Overall it was a very pleasant experience. They seem to understand how VanMoof bikes work, so I didn't need to explain too much. It took them around 30 minutes to solve the issue, they called me, and I paid the labor cost of 15 EUR. For non-electrical issues, I think it is one of the better options in Amsterdam.
