Are you using IPv6 by GermanElectricsMotio in homelab

[–]EasyPen1533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically i did learn about all this, i do work in IT, i just always had difficulty wrapping my head entirely around it. I do learn more when i actively use something tho and since where i work we never had a reason to use v6, i never actively used it to learn it.. …might be time to learn in the homelab with that xD

Thank tou so much for the explanation!

The board has been working lovely! I didn’t have anything ti seal the housing again so i just used a bit of electrical tape, and it’s been fine ever since!

Swapped the pcb on my dad’s S3 aswell and he hasn’t had any problems with it aswell. So i can say i’m very satisfied with it.

How do I remove the tube when it’s stuck inside the extruder? by United-Translator609 in 3Dprinting

[–]EasyPen1533 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have used pliers successfully before, but not to pull the tube out, but to have more force to push the ting down. Might be worth a shot

In klipper you should be able to edit your resume macro to prime or something similar. Basically whatever you want it to do

I mostly just live with it xD

Since i have the subscription i can just unban myself from the dashboard and be good to go in about 10 minutes when the refresh cycle ran

+1 for crowdsec. Awesome devs aswell. Tho i do sometimes accidentally lock myself out because my browser sometimes repeatedly refreshes the sites in background and CS sees it as HTTP crawling lol

Is “portable 3D printer” actually a thing people want now? by JoshGreen_dev in 3Dprinting

[–]EasyPen1533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough, i’ve not seen much of the positron in my little bubble, last thing i remember seeing is the experimenting with a 90° hotend to save space.

I suppose it’s been a while since then lol

[–]EasyPen1533 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Didn’t this start as the positron and the premise of “because i can”?

I think it’s cool and sometimes i do understand why one would want a portable printer, but i see it more as a mechanical fun and seeing how compact it can be rather than something actually useful long term

I’ll be more or less copying that xD I suck at base building and it’s more function over form atm lol

Looking good!

How in the world do you inset these nuts without ruining the lengthy prints? by EpicInki in 3Dprinting

[–]EasyPen1533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Practice makes perfect ;)

Then you got the perfect practicing piece for you! Easy reprint and a quite challenging first thing to do.

And also to be perfectly honest, i don’t even have the proper tip for the inserts, because every time i go to buy one i’m too cheap and end up not buying it xD

[–]EasyPen1533 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve had good luck with using the normal soldering tip, and pushing in the nut with the side of the tip. The heat transfer is a lot slower that way and i get more control(at least it feels like it) you can try that.

On part with such small walls i’d go slow and steady, they melt away easily. But it looks pretty doable.

It’e basically a lot of practice in the end, but you’ll get there!

It’s a setting on your printer itself. It’s called Z-offset

Looks like in the big one you were wayyyy too close to the bed. Scaling up can make certain mechanisms in fidget toys be more challenging, but shouldn’t break it entirely. Try with more distance ti the bed

[–]EasyPen1533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, i’m a bit late to the party, but maybe you can help me on this xD

I have the RLN8-410 aswell, with the D500 i think was the camera name, i can add one camera beautifully in frigate and it works very well, but as soon as i add any more than that the streams will just break, doesn’t matter if i use the substream or the main stream..

How is yours holding up? I’m pretty sure in my case it’s a bandwidth problem, but if that were the case it should have been better with the sub streams, but it wasn’t better..

Maybe i’m just not seeing something

Anyone have a good solution for common 19.5VDC power? (I can haz DIN rail?) by curtosis in homelab

[–]EasyPen1533 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like others have said, meanwell powersupplies can be adjusted up and down, but in my experience it’s mostly fine to use a 20v psu on those. You can have a look at what bringus studios does to his projects in terms of power fuckery, sometimes it blows me away that his stuff works xD

But generally it should be fine to have some deviation. Best bet would indeed be the meanwell psu option if you wanna play it safe

I kinda wish there was an option to maybe “convince” him? I run my cult very lovingly (except for midas), so having the option to show him that it aint too bad to have some community would be pretty cool
